Sorry for the terrible pics. He's a work in progress I've been playing with for a while now. The dots in the eyes and the red around the mouth were for some old referencing only. I think I'll be changing his hair a bit and I'll be narrowing his cheeks and nose some. The pics unfortunately are causing a bit of a "fish-eye" effect. When I get more pics of him on the next round they'll be better... I promise!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Much appreciated. He's gone through some changes since earlier today. He's looking much better I think. A bit more Silver Age now which was what I wanted to try to capture initially. I'll post more pics soon.
Thanks for lookin' and again for the kind words. :smiley12:

Thanks for the kudos man!
Yeah, I've had a wild night or two at the Palladium myself. I'm now living only about 5 mins down the street from it... walking distance, which would be a really bad idea to repeat after the condition I was in the last time I went to a show there a couple of years ago... Worcester can be dangerous enough as it is without being totally blotto!
I hear they might be closing the pip too. They're not sure yet.

Thanks again for all the kind words from all you guys. I can't wait to post more stuff... it's fun and very inspiring to get good (or bad which I'm sure I'll get some of too) feedback on the stuff I'm working on.
Till lata on... :smiley12:

Hey everybody. Some new and better pics of the Joker head I've been working on.
The old look...

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/1112081613a.jpg
And here are some new pics with the couple of changes I've made up to this point:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker1.jpg
The neck still needs to be filled out...
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker5.jpg
You can see the different Sculpeys I've been using to do him. I had used some gray to do the first layer of hair awhile back and the Super Sculpey that I used for his ears. I've tried to use up a bunch of older left-over bits of Sculpey when ever possible... waste not, want not. :wink_y:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker4.jpg
Still carving out the hair. More work to do around the eyes...wrinkles, the bags under the eyes need to be smoothed out a bit and wrinkled up, crow's feet, etc.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker6.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker3.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/redpriest77/Joker2.jpg
I'm undecided as to how I'm going to finish up the hair here in the back. The "spiked" thing is pretty cool, but I think I'm going to take some of it down at the the top so it is more rounded and the "spikes" will be more toward the bottom only.
So there ya have it for now. Till next time...
Tah Tah! :smiley12:
Very cool, I actually like the spikes

I am almost in TEARS over how awesome this sculpt is turning out.
This might very well turn out to be THE definitive 8-inch MEGO scaled Joker sculpt!
Incredible!!

I would definately have the Spikes lower down the Neckline. But Dude...that Sculpt is coming out simply FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say that the Joker is coming out really well. More pics are coming soon... I hope. Thanks to darklord1967's cool suggestions, the Joker's looking bad***!
I can't wait to finish this head! It's been a long time coming. Maybe if I weren't such a perfectionist it would have been done long ago. :smiley1: Oh well, at least it will be "perfect" when it's finished. :cool_y:
Thanks to all who've shown interest so far.

Holy crap! That sculpt is amazing! I can't wait to see it all done. That is EXACTLY what The Joker looks like when I think of him.
Not to stir up controversy, but it's possible Bob Kane never drew Joker and extremely unlikely that he drew him during the silver age.

Trust me, gang.
Dino and I have been corresponding a bit, and what he's got cooked up for a Joker sculpt is going to set the MEGO custom world on fire!!
I know I'm stoked!!
Say Dino, just a friendly reminder: Remember to make sure that the custom Joker head is a nice size.
I've seen a LOT of beautiful Joker sculpts and (disappointingly) so many of them are too small for 8 inch MEGO.
The Joker has a slightly warped cranium (somewhat large what with all that flowing hair and unusually long chin).
A correctly sized Joker sculpt for MEGO 8 inch figures should probably be about the same size as MEGO's original Joker sculpt. Certainly no smaller.
If you compare MEGO's original Joker sculpt with virtually any other 8 inch scaled MEGO male character sculpt (top of head to chin measurement), you'll note that the Joker is slightly larger.

very cool and looks like a cross between the dick sprang and the original actor from "the man who laughs" very well done.
