Trying to make Hush

I am wanting to make a customize Hush figure from the character in the Batman books. I have tried wrapping heads with various string, gauze etc but have not liked the appearance.

Has anyone shrunk the wrapped mask from the Unknown Soldier figure to see if that might work or enlarged the Hush head from the DC direct series?

Have you tried white athletic tape, used for taping ankles. It's easily cut down the middle for smaller bandages.
