When Do You Usually Get Your Income Tax Back?

Well, I should have filed already!
I got my W2s from work last Wednesday, but I am still waiting on my 1099 from a contractor that I occasionally work for.
I've been trying to call him to see if I even earned enough with him last year for him to bother sending me one. No luck.

But as soon as I either get that, or hear I won't be getting one I will file electronically and should have the money in my bank account in a couple weeks.

It will probably be another month before I do mine. We are still waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail and my tax return isn't as straight forward as most so it takes a while to complete.

i usually do mine late march and get it back mid may. although in california, bec there is a budget crisis, they're threatening to issue iou's in lieu of the state refund unitl the governador agrees to a budget amount.

did ours on the 12th of jan, they filed them on the 16th and we got them back the next monday

No, and it shouldn't unless you put it on the wrong line (manual file).

I have used TurboTax for 10 years and always e-file. I get my refund direct deposit within 10 days. Never have had a problem. The software walks you though step by step.

I filed yesterday and should receive my refund in my bank account on Feb. 13th.
