Remember Harvey Comics? Sure you do! They brought us such childhood icons as Richie Rich, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Spooky, Wendy the Good Witch, and everybody's favorite little devil, Hot Stuff. The website, which is very Flash Macromedia intensive, features in-depth bios on all of the major (and some of the minor) characters, Flash Web games, and has sections for the comic books, TV shows, and movies, as well as the requisite online store. The Flash animation is incredible - if at times slow-loading - and really adds to the look and feel of the site, which manages to maintain the overall flavor of the comics and cartoons. If you have a soft spot for Casper, Richie Rich, and all his friends, this site is really "Hot Stuff."

This is something I wrote, btw. Wanted to add the feed, but wasn't sure where (the topic is different every week) so I chose General.

Definitely Baby Hughie, but I don't know about Courageous Cat.

Courageous Cat isn't a Harvey Toon....CC and Minute Mouse were created by Bob Kane (Batman's dad)

Wasn't there Terry Toons as well ?

I think I might be mixing them up ....

Like, I think Mighty Mouse was a Terry Toon.

Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle were Terry Toons

Hmmmm....

Even when I was a kid, I found the Harvey cast somewhat disquieting.... Ghosts, witches, devils.... (Can you imagine Standards and Practices blowing a gasket ovet hat NOWADAYS?) I've always wondered where Casper the friendly dead kid was buried.

Funny thing; I guess there WAS an origin issue, published back in 54 or so... but I can't find anyone who's ever read it. I'm curious about his origin.

Casper's originals always makes a good debate :)

Me personally, I think he died in childbirth .......

That would explain his almost Christlike innocent personality.

He seems too old... around 8 or so maybe. And what's the deal with his uncles? Was there a car accident or somesuch?

Someone told me Wendy was an orphan left as an infant in the woods that the witches adopted and tried to make evil. Maybe Casper's origin is similar?
