View Full Version : Rewatched "Meglos"

Just rewatched Meglos since probably the mid eighties and while it isn't perfect it was always my favorite of that season. Most likely because it felt like old school Who instead of the rest of the season which seemed to be headed toward new directions.
Was Meglos an old script?

Meglos is one of the only Tom Baker stories i've never seen until about 6 months ago.
I actually pursued seeing it because of YOU, Brian.
A year or so ago someone put a Meglos bust on ebay.
I showed it to you guys in auction watch and you said, that one always creeps me out.
That comment made me hunt it down and watch it :)
I liked it......
The E-space Trilogy was OK, but to be honest, they seemed to really be slow stories..... especially Full Circle and Warrior's Gate.
"Decay" was ok.
Leisure was kind of slow.
Keeper and Logo were ok, even though Keeper seemed a little slow.
In season-18, I think Meglos, Decay and Logo were my fav stories.

I remember it being somewhat of a false hope, I liked the story and all the updated imagery and had the best hopes for the new season.
The the E Space thing happened and I felt let down, State of Decay is probably the most entertaining but I have never been able to sit through Warriors Gate.

I always thought the whole purpose of Meglos was just to have a 2nd, evil Doctor running around. An idea Tom Baker shot down in the story Stones of Blood. It's a pretty good episode. The Chronic Historiesis idea was very good. I think there's too much re-cap from previous episodes in this season tho.

I loved that whole season.
