I'll be heading out to Vegas this week to bring home a few million.
Well I hope...
A bunch of family and friends invested a few grand to give me this opportunity. I'm playing on the 8th and yeah I'll be a bit nervous. :baby21:
Wish me luck with some Mego love!!! I'll need it!!!! :mego::heart:

I could only dream of doing something like that!!!
You must be pumped.
If I was doing that, i would be spending my next 6 days watching all I can on TV, learning all the power moves, bids, etc. I am an aggressive player anyway.

Yeah, it's 10 grand to get in but I only put a small percentage of that.
Even thought my return won't be as big, It still gave me the chance to partake in this event. Which is sweet...

man, this sounds cool.
I've played penny-ante for almost 20 years with the family...pretty comfortable player.
We have World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions for the PS2. I didn't think I'd like it..but it is pretty neat...has all the feel of watchin it on tv.
Good luck man!
Don't tell Neil, but this is the World Series of STRIP Poker.
Wear layers, my friend. Layers.

Remember to blurt out "Go fish!" when it's not your turn. The crowds love that.

I actually won a few $100 tournaments at casinos in CT but would never have the money to play in a tournament of this nature. Good luck, I'll be rooting for you.

The bout between me and Hugh or the Poker Tourney?
Actually, ESPN will be covering the whole tournament from beginning to end and will air it a few months later. The final table will be televised live on Pay Per View.

A couple of people PM'd me to ask how I made out so I figured I just fill in anyone who's the least bit interested.
Not good. :)
I started at noon with 20,000 in chips. I played until 1:35 AM when I busted out. I was holding my own for the most part of the tournament. Pretty much staying around 20,000. Winning a bit and losing a bit. The blinds were 400-800 when I was down to 14,500. The player in first position (chip leader at the table) raised $2,200. One player called before me and I called in the small blind with pocket 10's. The flop came out J 10 8. I flopped a set and raised $5,000. The initial raiser folded and the following player put me all in instantly. I was hoping he had queens or eights. Was sure he didn't call $2,200 with queen/nine for the straight. I called and low and behold he had Jacks and my tournament life was over. That hand has been in my head for the past week but I'm pretty much over it. I have no regrets and played exactly how I would have played if I had to do it again.
All in all it was a great experience and I will never forget it. Although I only lasted 13 and a half hours, they were some of the most exciting hours of my life.

Well played hand. Anyone would have done the same thing with what you were holding and it just came down to luck on that one.

Hard to fold a set for sure. Eh, what's 10 grand anyway? I'm sure you made that up in the cash game right? :wink_y:
I think I'd rather play the $1000 or $1500 tourneys myself. Smaller field, smaller cost. Smaller payout, but I'm pretty conservative.
