New Year's Tradition: Twilight Zone Marathon

The only problem with their marathon is every year they keep playing the same ones.
And if they ever do throw in a few rare ones, it's always in the wee hours of the morning.
I'm sooo tired of the fan favourite episodes.
How many times can someone watch the one with the old lady and the flying saucer crashes onto her roof ?
Or the pig face one.
Or Shatner on the plane.
I want some uncommon ones
Favourite episodes ?
My list is
On Thursday We Leave For Home
The Bard
I Shot An Arrow
The one with Jack Warden on the planet with the robot woman.Last edited by Mikey; Dec 31, '08, 10:25 PM. -
I wish they wouldn't show the hour-long episodes....there are only a few good ones and it throws the timing and flow off IMO.

My top 10 (something we were actually discussing tonight):
1) Time Enough at Last
2) Nick of Time
3) Nightmare at 20,000 Feet
4) To Serve Man
5) The Howling Man
6) A Thing About Machines
7) Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?
8) The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street
9) What You Need
10) It's A Good LifeThink OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

By my count, I've seen "The Invaders" more times than any other episode during the Sci-Fi marathons and the ones that used to run on WPIX and WSBK years ago. I HATE the stupid thing.

That's the creepiest episode for me.

The Lonely with Jean Marsh (who had one of the shortest stints as a Dr Who companion in what serial?) as the robot and Ted Knight in a bit part.

The one that bugs me (and I've only seen it a couple times) is the last episode (if I remember my TZ trivia) and I'm not up on the titles but it was the one where the kids jumped in their pool and then come up in a pond in another land where an old lady lives with a bunch of other kids.
What bugs me about it is the jarring voice dub by June Foray (Rocky the flying squirrel) due to recording problems they had when the episode was originally filmed.

i've been doing this one since childhood
i don't really follow it and watch the whole thing. i mostly just pop in when i can. that's my tradition with this tradition.
although, it used to be during Thanksgiving and not New Years, back in the day....Comment

I love the TZ marathon. Five Characters in Search of an Exit is one of my favorites, mostly because after several years, I caught it for the first time and was blown away. Another on my list is A Game of Pool. And I know some of them are shown frequently, but I always like watching Eye of the Beholder, Of Late I Think of Cliffordville.Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
Check out my customs!

I never saw TZ much as a kid. I pretty much discoverd it on Sci-Fi.
I saw "The Howling Man" for the first time a few years back. Whoa. That one was heavy.
The one about the toys is another great one. Actually the other one where people are toys (the couple stuck in the train set display) is another good one. I wonder which one came first?
I bought my Dad TZ season 1 for Christmas. He was talking about how he always liked it, but rarely gets to watch it, so I remedied that. I hope to borrow his set soon.

Something similar bugged me when I was watching "Little Girl Lost" last night....when she's trapped in the fourth dimension, the girl's voice is supplied by an adult...and it's sooooooooo obvious. And when the dog is growling, it's obviosuly supplied by an actor as well. It distracted from the entire episode. Which was cheesy to begin with.Think OUTSIDE the Box!
