Before disputes like this are brought to a public forum, you should make contact with Castaway first. Their e-mail is clearly published on both their homepage as well as their storefront. David Lee is a member here and is the go-to contact guy. It's a rarity that they would not fulfill an order and if it does happen it's usually just a clerical error which can be fixed pretty easily.

Can't say anything beyond that if you have made contact and received no reply. That would be highly unusual. They are a top-notch bunch and will make everything right with you.

I did write them an email a couple weeks ago asking several questions and never received a reply either. I suppose it could've been overlooked but does seem a bit odd for a business to not answer a potential customer. Of course the same thing happened when I wrote similar emails to CTVT and DR. Mego so I don't know what to say. Maybe I'm jinxed? If there was an online contact form I used that, if not I used my own email.

What Question did you ask ? What colors the Bodies came in ? :silly:

Hey Rich if I didn't get back with you it's because I was super busy.... I wish I could e-mail everyone and shoot the breeze about what we are making next and what the future brings, but I can't. We have a hard enough time keeping up with the orders we do have... let me tell you we have a bunch! We have been crazy successful because of the wonderful support of Mego heads here and abroad.

We are probably the most accessible little toy company as well... I mean between the guy who wanted me to make replicas of the past Miss America's (who proceeded to mail me a list complete with their measurements) and the guy who called me late one night and proceeded to explain that he knew who killed JFK... but I'm OK because "I am part of the band"... Jason and I get bombarded everyday, I don't mean a few... it's overwhelming most days... Somewhere between "thanks" and "no we can't make Spider-man" or " I don't think others might like 8 inch replicas of famous concert pianist (real example)" the wick gets a bit short or we miss one or two... I apologize for this, and do appreciate your effort to contact us.

CASTAWAY TOYS......I left another message on your answering machine TODAY!!!!....and STILL NO RETURN CALL OR EMAIL?????????

I have the same problem....with my six year old. Zero patience and has trouble living in reality. You should load up the sites ten times a day..I'm sure you will get the desired result. Cast a way toys is dependable!! They do excellent work. And they are human beings with lives and families outside your toy needs. I wouldn't answere your e-mails until next year.

Its a shame the world doesn't wrap around the rest of us like it does around you.

I'm not trying to stir things up nor do I agree with the methods used by the starter of this thread by any means but I'm beginning to understand just an eensy-weensy bit where he's coming from.
I'm sure you are all great guys and offer a great product and maybe you are busy with orders and your 'real' lives especially around the holidays but I've seen you have time to respond in this thread and elsewhere yet I still haven't received any response to my questions.
Like I said, I sent an email. I see there was a problem with that (mentioned earlier in the thread) that has been fixed. I restated my questions right here in this thread. When there was no answer I also sent a private message to you. Again...no response. Not that I'm losing sleep over it but what does a guy have to do to get some feedback?
I mean I don't think I come off as wack-job or persistant dweeb or anything like that. I'm just a guy who likes toys and saw some of your products and wanted more information. One can only wonder how many others just gave up (lost business) after not receiving a response?
Rich

Don't have any more of those from 4 0r 5 years ago Rich, sorry.

Well I did wait an really long time for Captain Action but yknow a little nudging and it arrived and it is great. So that's definatly a good thing. I don't know but I feel like any of these mego retro toys feel so much more valuable than the $ they cost.

I mean are the Sideshow Toy Star Wars guys really worth it? I got the Indiana Jones and yea its great but say a Star Trek EMCE is as great at can be bought for as little at 10.00 bucks insteal of 100.00. Quite a range so I am patient.

That being said if I had any idea what Castaway actually is selling ready to ship aside from Captain Action and his enemy please do tell as all the pre ordering nonsense (which I know isnt there fault) really has an effect on collecting for fun as I really dredd not really knowing when the stuff is on its way which was my issue when I ordered Captain Action. but again he is here and a great toy and all is well.

You know we hate the pre-ordering ourselves... and when I say hate it? I mean HATE it... it's a hassle from start to finish, but it's just how a small company can make it these days. Even the big boys pre-order, they don't charge you for it up front like we do, but then they don't give you anything extra for it either. We have to do this to make sure we get enough capital to produce these figures for the hardcore fans willing to shell it out and wait. The upshot is you get extra stuff. Why all the hassle? Because we learned a long time ago that people love to play "hey make this", but when it's time to pay we hear crickets chirping... it's the nature of the beast, we know this and therefore we operate in a way to mitigate it. Hopefully one day we won't have to...

But as this thread and response shows... we are accessable... more than any other company I know or have ever known. We try to let you know what is going on, we keep it out front we even take suggestions when they make sense. We know that this place and you hardcore MEGO HEADS keep us in business. But keep in mind that we do run a business too, we do have lives, and we are overwhelmed most of the time. If if we say it's coming, it's coming. If we goof an order, we make it right... If we have time to chat it up and shoot the breeze we do, but we don't always have that luxury... and if we don't answer right away, please don't take it personally...

While pre orders may be a hassle I kind of dig the idea, especially when you include these really cool extras that you aren't offering elsewhere.

These figures are awesome guys. I was stunned and anxious to get them when I saw them at Comic Con.

i knew it will take awhile for the figures to be shipped i heard problems with the captain action. but i ordered the figure anyways---i'll be waiting i know it'll be awhile my mother's even asking when they'll ship them out i told her prob in january or god knows when. but i wont complain cus i know this takes time for these things to get into order.

as a wise man said : good things come to those who wait.
