The close up of that Soldier is horrible looking... One thing though with the Soldier on the left in that picture of the three of them, they have him decked out as a cross between a standard Soldier and The Hunt Leader... (The hieroglyphics on his ammo sling show his Hunt Leader status.)

And I still can't figure out whey they're throwing in a TV series Captain into the mix... Then again, Hasbro's Signature Series did that too, but even worse, with the Hasbro's, they labeled him as a Sergeant...

There is something not right about that soldier ape.

I wish I could get closeup shots of the Captain, to see him up close and personal, too, but as an exclusive those photos are impossible to obtain.

Soldier Ape looks like some kind of Vietnam era deserter hippy character.....Ursus, on the other hand, looks alive! It's eery looking at him....I can almost see his eyes turn towards me, and hear him in that evil sneer "The only good human...is a dead human!"
Lucky for me, as a human, he would then be distracted by the hippy ape, and tell him to get a haircut and a job!

I think the purple sash around the gorilla is part of his backpack.

The gorilla looks odd because, aside from the hair being too long, the hair line along the forehead doesn't follow the brows. Other than that they both look awesome to me. But it's odd that someone is diving into the apes again after Sideshow did some decent looking figures already and stopped making them (though their humans were crap, aside from the mutants I guess).

Yes, he's definitely missing a widow's peak. I just wish Hot Toys did sculpted hair instead.

Oh well. At least this way I will have a doll (err....action figure) with hair I can comb through. Just for yucks when I do get my General Ursus, I'm going to french braid or corn row his hair.

Not being a POTA fanatic, it looks like Hot Toys did a really great job with these figures. In some of the pictures, the sculpts look so "real" that it's eerie.

WOW! I e-mailed Hot Toys and they e-mailed me back!! I just want to make sure that when they create Zira, they make her as screen accurate as possible. This means making sure that they make her brown underdress more screen accurate, and her green jacket better than Sideshow's with correctly positioned hieroglyphs (not upside down) and better seam placement of Zira's green jacket. They are going to send my photo and sketch to their creative team. I am so stoked. I hope they listen to fans and really knock Zira out of the park.

Man the detail is awsome! It almost looks like still shots from the movie. Way out of my budget range though.

The hair is a little big, but I can restyle/cut it. It is way over my budget, but it's an ape's dream come true, especially General Ursus.

Pictures from the Tokyo convention. Snare is not something you want to walk into battle with, but whatever. Overkill on accessories he's wearing: backpack AND high-ranking bandolier AND holding a snare? Other than that, he still looks beautiful.
