Toys R Us and Diamond Select Toys make a deal

Diamond Select Toys and Toys R Us are excited to announce a new partnership that will bring the latest DST products to Toys R Us stores nationwide! That's right, now you can find all your favorite collector toys by visiting the greatest toy store there is!

The geek-chic U.S.S. Enterprise from the classic Star Trek series can now be found on Toys R Us shelves just in time for the holiday shopping season and this is just the tip of the interstellar iceberg for Star Trek fans. We've also got two exclusive Star Trek action figures shipping very soon and a host of other new and best-selling surprises to unveil over the coming months.

I don't know if this will include the retro cloth EMCE Toys is making for
DST or the 1/4 scale figures. TRU used to carry Art Asylum products,
so that may be most of it.

Glad to hear DST is expanding their distribution.

About the only Toy store left now that KB is closing up.

Any idea what the Exclusive TREK figures are?

Nice! Hopefully we'll see some Megos on TRU shelves again. That would be pretty dang cool.

wow... That means they should be able to carry everything offered in the Distributing Previews Mag that a Comicbook shop carries if they want too .. This is big news.

I sure hope they bring the retro Star Trek Megos to TRU. The local comic shops haven't had them.

Wow, that's great news, Paul. The nearest TRU in Emeryville became Babies R Us a few years ago, and I think the next nearest is in Hayward, right, Bay Area Folks?

Isn't going to leave a lot of comic shops in the cold? Hey I'm all for mass appeal but EMCE started selling just on line and in comic shops now TRU? Wow

AWESOME! Could mean there is hope for an extended POTA line? That's my thinking!

Heck I'm all for the EMCE line to be at FAO and TRU and bigger stores. It will spread the word of them and hopefully get them more sales thus more new figures and lines in the future.

My three comic shops refuse to carry the EMCE figures because they don't think they will sell and don't want to be stuck with more shelf warmers then they have already. I told them they will sell if they got them, but they won't listen. If I want to get EMCE figures from them I have to buy a case of 8, I don't need that many figures and I don't want the hassle of trying to sell the extras.

that's cool to hear, but TRU have been closing around my neck of the woods. Closest one now is about 50 miles give or take.

can't wait to see that WGSH line on shelves once again...err oops, did I just let the cat out of the bag hahahhahaa
