Is this official?
Isn't she a bit old for the role?
Not too crazy about Bullock as Wonder Woman but I hear if she turns it down Jennifer Lopez is next in line, GOOD GAWD if the role goes to her, J-Lo is too bloody short and her *** is waaaaay too BIG to be Amazonian Wonder Woman.

For Wonder Woman it has to be tall, statuesque, athletic, and with great looks, oh, and brunette of course.
Mmm, how about Amanda Peete?

Or how about Jessica Biel?
The thing about Biel's face is that she just doesn't fit Wonder Woman's facial features...but wow...she's has a fantastic athletic body:

IMO the only way to get an actress to pull of being Wonder Woman is to get a no named talent that looks the part and can act ... much like what happened with Lynda Carter for the TV role. Wonder Woman is a very visual character the look has to be right or it just won't work. The talent scouts just need to get off their butts and look for the right girl, and stop trying to find someone with "star power" If they cast a Bullock or worse a J-Lo ... I for one will not be seeing it

That Bullock rumor and photoshopped pic are old news. I think whoever is the current creators on this movie said they'd like it to be an unknown.

It may be photoshopped, but goddamn, she looks hot
But I think RussG is right, give the part to an unknown actress. Known stars have too much bagage already, their past films will play too big a role when discussing this

I agree with the "Unknown" for the Role. But Damm...would I like see Monica Beluchi in th Part!:drool:I know...too old(She's like 36).

Not my favorite body type romantically, but I think a more
"filled out" muscular gal is the way to go for a choice, as that skimpy
Wonder Woman costume on any gal that's too thin would look all wrong
Both of Hectors gal's pix looked pretty good
If I were casting the role---I'd actually probably push the muscular definition
aspect of a Wonder Woman actress to just before "ewww. that's TOO much
muscle definition"
I loved Timm's Wonder Woman on JL/JLU, but she was actually a tad too
feminine for me
Maybe I'm just used to the old Super Friend's WW's deeper voice and
larger waist :)
Basically, I'd like her to be sexy sure...but more of a "woah, she's like
a viking warrior kick anybody's butt" kind of sexy
Just about any other of DCs main female characters, I'd give a pass on
them being "bigger" physically
Comic Book Geek
Jun 29, '07, 6:12 AM
Wonderwoman doesn't have to be beefy, but she can't be ultra thin either. Buxumous with good muscle tone.

Wonderwoman doesn't have to be beefy, but she can't be ultra thin either. Buxumous with good muscle tone.
I'm not saying she has to be one way or another---I would never want to
jump the gun by ruling out just plain old "good acting chops" casting,
however, it all comes back to what I envision when I say "woah, she's like a viking warrior..."
Frankly, her "mythical background" makes me think of Viking Warriors for
some reason, when I really should be more geared towards the
"Greek Gods" bent that is mentioned so much in WW's lore
Men heroes are always these big imposing figures in mythological stories,
but I guess that doesn't mean the women have to be---or in this case the
mythical heroine woman derived from them
Here's yet another thing that makes me envision WW as a bigger woman:
to me, the top two DCU gals are Supergirl and Wonder Woman
(at least strength-wise)
I'd prefer to see Supergirl slight and unassuming----while Wonder Woman
would be almost the polar opposite
so there's that too

I'm glad it's just a fake pic ... Sandra does nothing for me. I LOVED Linda Carter and am of the mind to think an unknown beauty would be the only way not to ruin it!!!

I'd go with an unknown actress also. Bullock while cute isn't WW material. Linda Carter will be a hard act to follow.
The Toyroom
Jun 29, '07, 7:13 AM
Lynda Carter will be a hard act to follow.
Yup! And the best way to do that is to go with an unknown that can grow into the role....a "name" actress will only bring certain expectations and I'm sure it will all be a let-down and she'll make one or two and then the role will be recast any way.

Oh Hell no Bullock although very pretty couldn't carry that role. You have to go with an Unknown because if you don't get her right the movie just on her looks will Bomb.

I don't know who that is, but I LIKE it
Problem with my thoughts about WW is, that to me she HAS to show some
skin, unlike all the more realistic characters these days who have to wear
protection for their vulnerable spots. I just can't see WW bowing to that
pressure----alto'---to put this in context---I CAN see Batman doing that
Sooo, I think some above average muscle definition is key to making
the character believable if she's showing that skin
Oh, here's another thing guys....my friend just reminded me today,
WW is an AMAZON-----THAT's why I keep thinking "viking" when I think
of WW----Amazons are big and tall and fierce right?

That pic that I posted is of Gabrielle Reece...US Volleyball Champion. Also used to host MTV Sports Show. She is most definitely a Amazon in every sense of the word. She did a spread in Playboy that was shot by Herb Ritts...amazing is the only word to describe her.

Thanks for the follow up info Meanie
Pretty woman.
I look at that picture, and really I can't think of how an actress could
look much more appropriate physically for the WW role in my eyes
Obviously, its tough to find a woman with the right look and adequate
acting chops in one package---but I'm crossing my fingers
I always thought that behind "the big 4" WW was next in line---a great movie
could do wonders for the character's popularity, and DC's image too---
-not like they are hurting for recognition---but, you know :)

The last name I heard that seemd to have any kind of truthful resonance to it was INdian actress Priyanka Chopra.

Gabrielle Reece would be disastrous as Wonder Woman, first of all she's NOT an actress, she's an ex-volleyball player, you have to have a person who can at least act a little, Reece has never acted before in anything. Second, she's bloody 6' 3" tall. How many male actors are taller than her??? She's going to look soooo weird standing next to a known actor, heck, look at her talking to Burt Reynolds:
http://www.models-port.com/images/SF/SF_121405_3.jpg
:smiley1:
Third, she's not a BRUNETTE and she's really not that pretty up close:

Sorry Berto, no go from me.
HOWEVER in all seriousness, Reece would make a FANTASTIC She-Hulk, now that would be great, I'd support that for sure.

Yes but tall to a point, if she's too tall (like Reece), movies audiences are going to laugh everytime she stands next to a shorter guy, that just the way it goes.
In comic books it's fine, but would not translate well on film.
Like I said, Reece is PERFECT for She-Hulk.

If anyone understands and supports the need for translation and adaptation
from comic to film its me----
and if her height is really that much of an issue and if her hair color is too-
-- they are easily dealt with
----I mean you can color her hair and shoot her from a different angle
or use certain platforms or whatever----common tricks used for
shorter male lead actors who have to be shot w/taller female romantic leads
I'm not so sure the height thing would be that much of a problem anyway,
as ---funny as height is to see on a woman----that could be a big part of
her character---and, again, with "tricks" could be kept under control
As far as being a crumby actress, well, nothing can help that! (She does
have some hosting experience, though, right? Ya never know)
All in all, I just like the bigger and more muscular direction is all
Eh---knowing Hollywood, we'll get like Lacey Chabert or something ;)

You know, I had a feeling that she was the girl I saw
in Coffee And Cigarettes play herself and her sister in the same scene.
I didn't know it was her playing WITH herself (no innuendo intended!)
until someone told me----- and I was heavily impressed
I believe that's the only movie I've seen her in
I get her confused with the redhead from Boogie Nights---I don't know why
Can you believe I never saw LOTRings at all?
Some actors just never really get into my radar
Probably has something to do with consciously not watching TV regularly
since I moved to L.A. 7 years ago

Too Short. Wonder Woman is an AMAZON...They are tall atheletic types. Not short and cute. That's one of the reasons I thought Gabrielle Reece would have been good for the role. Maybe Lilly would be good in the role of Wonder Girl...not Wonder Woman.
Look at the Women that have played Wonder Woman...Cathy Lee Crosby and Linda Carter....Both tall and atheltic women. That's what you want in the next Wonder Woman role.

Actually yes, Lilly is too short (5' 5"), too bad because her "look" is dead on.
But if you don't think she's athletic, I don't know what is:
http://www.blogcadre.com/files/images/evangeline_lilly.jpg
I don't want Wonder Woman to look like this:
http://www.impulsepro.com/images/femalemuscle/roll1%20(1).jpg
That's Nicole Bass, 6' 3" of pure muscle.
However, while Lynda Carter has good height for a woman, she's 5' 9" not exactly basketball player material, and Crosby is only 5' 7", so there goes your Amazon picks.
Reece is just awful for Wonder Woman, too tall, no acting experience, she's a blonde, and she's not that pretty up close.

I just have to say. That Lilly is hot as heck----and yes, I admit she's
a LOT more pretty than Reece up close---it takes a lotta pix to figure this
out, so I need more pix for scientific reasons---um anyway, I agree about
her athletic look Hector--I don't know how much more muscular you could
get than Lilly without it being overpowering visually--there are a LOT of
actresses who don't have those "washboard abs" that Lilly has and I
think whoever plays WW should be that kind of "fit"----I think that's hot as
heck too---she's also pretty slender which I also personally like in
a woman---but, unfortunately I think T-bolt was right that her
thinness/lack of curves works against her in the "Wonder Woman look" dept.
-----Nothing against Lilly's looks otherwise ----she is SMOKIN!
