Are we allowed to post signature pictures?

I tried to download this one:

...and I got this response:

"Your file of 2.0 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 2.0 KB for this filetype."

My picture is exactly 2.0 KB bytes.

So what gives?

Looks like Paul and I are on the same team for once. I'd rather not see any signature pics here either. I've seen forums where this is allowed and it's a total mess down there. Before you know it the Museum will be flooded with these sig pics, which - like Paul said - makes it harder to read the threads. Especially in a thread full of pics, like in a customs thread.
We didn't have this feature in the old museum, so let's just all pretend we still don't have that feature and leave the sig pics alone. Thank you :grin:

Count me amongst those who'd rather not see sig pics. There is already a lot of stuff and space between the content of each post. I think the the people here are pretty creative and I always enjoy seeing their work, but I think it will becomemore of a headache.

I've gone into my control panel and turned off images entirely. "Edit Options" That way I don't have to deal with Siggy pics and I just get links to images posted, so I can view what I choose to view and don't get slowed down.

I also opted to turn off Avatars, which is nice. I get too influenced by the growling, glowering, weird pictures people choose for icons. I'll be very disappointed if I ever meet T1K and he's NOT Tony Orlando.

But it is possible to customize your experience here, so everyone can have what they like. They only catch is that the only way to turn off Sig pics is to turn off images---so you can't have one and not the other.

I believe you can do either. You can turn off signatures or turn off images or both. But unless I'm completely wrong, turning off signatures won't turn off all images.

I think if we are courteous to the mego admins and host the stuff on our sites or else where so it don't disrupt their bandwidth we can do the large sigs.

Click UserCP, then User Options. Scroll down to Thread Display Options. Click or unclick whatever you want.

That's true. But I didn't want to turn off signatures entirely, because there's often useful information in them, like websites or when Joe or Hulk is having a sale or whatever. I just wanted to turn off the sig images which meant I had to turn off all images.

I don't know why some of you are against siggy pictures if it meets the allowed size.

The one I'm requesting is only 152 x 70, well below the maximum size, and it's relevant to me, it's my name, and it makes it more lively and personal, I mean after all, this is about personalities as well, some of you act too serious, this is supposed to be a fun place.

If you don't like it you can simple DISABLE the picture feature, simple as that.

The vast majority have fast connection as well, small signature pictures are not gonna slow anyone down, mine will be roughfly the same size as my avatar.

You don't want pictures?

Seriously, its really just because it causes too much to sift through to get to the messages. If I couldn't turn 'em off, I'd simply adjust. No biggie.

Nothing against your pic, Hec (in fact it's cool having your name graffitid (that's not a word, is it?) on a wall), but I fear that soon everyone will have one and that'll make it really hard to read messages. No offence to Pat, but he already has 3 pics in different sizes and one being a gif. file. It's all over the place... :rolleyes:
And no, I'm not turning off signatures cause there's some usefull info in there sometimes and I'm also not turning off pics cause I like drooling over people's customs too much ;)
