I'm getting tired of complimenting new "classic" product by DC DIRECT
and I'm also getting tired of not buying any---- :)
but I love this kind of stuff.

(I'll take this opportunity to give kudos to that recently posted
CREEPER, BLACK LIGHTING, etc. History of the DC Universe wave as well.)

I love the Deluxe DC Direct 13" figures. LOVE THEM. I'm currently building my own Justice League. To date I've got the Flash, Aquaman, Classic Batman, and just got the Classic Superman today. I think it's truly one of the very best figure lines and that's putting it up against Takara and Medicom in many instances (not all, but many).

It gives me hope for Spectre, Alan Scott, Sandman, Star man and so on.

Green Arrow is my favorite so far. He was my favorite mego, too.

Guess I'm more right down the middle Bronze Age arch-enemies
with 13 inchers I'd like to see.

What about PENGUIN, RIDDLER, SINESTRO, CAPTAIN COLD and DR. SIVANA?

:)

ANY Wonder Woman released in this line at this point is going to be
highly celebrated...that's for sure.

I saw your Superman in the Comic Forum....it looks great.

I had heard that most all the "S" icons were misprinted too low---
yours looked correctly placed.

Haven't seen many group shots of these guys. (hint, hint) :)

Thanks Huedell! I'll make me a partial Justice League shot and post it here. I love these figures and their well worth the investment. Of course, I shop the price, but I don't tend to spend more than $60 tops and actually have gotten the likes of Batman and Aquaman for mid 40's. My wife got me Robin for Christmas, so that means I just need Green Lantern and Green Arrow to complete my initial team. It's been a blast collecting them.

Yeah, go the ebay route. Picked up the comic Joker for $60 shipped last week. When these retailed for a round that, it didn't matter, but since they've went over $80, I'm letting them cool a few months before trying to go after them.

Jay looks great. The only thing that would have made it sweeter was a swappable older head with the white/gray temples.

That's a really well done figure for a factory run. But it's missing a few things. The wings on the boots. Jay also has a yellow lighting bolt on the outside of both legs. This stuff was deleted in the 70's. Shame they didn't do alittle more checking. Would've been a perfect Golden Age Flash then. I may still buy one and add the details I mentioned. The boot wings would be a casting of his helmut wings and could use my vinly decals for the missing leg lighting bolts. Pretty easy fix.

Technically, the swashbuckler boots are wrong for that era too. That was a 70s thing. Jay had little short booties with wings. He got the Captain America-like boots in the 70s, probably due to artists not doing their homework!

Nice line in general, but the price and scale (who decided on 13"...was it a homage of some sort to Megos too big 12 inchers?) put them out of my target range. Should have stuck with the rumored Mego rerelease instead. (I could start another rumor here...but wont!)

I had heard that most all the "S" icons were misprinted too low---
yours looked correctly placed. Which Superman are you talking about? There are two versions the first issued one the deluxe edition with the suit and glasses and the Normal edition with the New Head. I have the First one and The S is perfect.

It's the reissued "Classic" Superman pictured here:

I had to go back and look at the pic again. You are right Chris. Those are tall swashbuckler boots like Captain America. They would be easy to trim down and correct that error. It's pretty much a '70's verison of Jay as the Flash. Except they forgot the graying at his temples.:googly: Talk about someone not doing their homework.

Hugh is indeed right- the vast majority of "S" emblems ever seen on the Classic Supes (at least when it first came out-perhaps there was a second run?) were practically on his belly. I made poor Charlie dig through all the ones his store got to find the one with the best placement. :)
