Guitar Hero or Rock Band for Wii?

Trying to decide on which, if any, we get the kids for Christmas (girls, ages 13 and 9)....obviously there are different versions of each but which has more long term play value? Guitar Hero seems to be just that....guitar. But Rock Band has what guitar, drums and mic?

Out of the Guitar Hero we've looked at, I think the Aerosmith one seemed like the best collection of songs that they'd probably know. What are some of the artists/tracks found on Rock Band? # of tunes?

Yeah, lot's of questions...just don't want to lay out the cash on the wrong one...:yeah:

Guitar Hero Has a new Game out Right Now Called "Guitar Hero World Tour" . It has Drums & a Mic Just like Rock Band. I just picked it up for the Boy for Xmas,.. for the Xbox 360. I also got Guitar Hero 2&3 ,.. as Well as Guitar Hero AreoSmith,.. & Guitar hero for my Son's DS . I have yet to play Rock Band... but hear the Songs are very cool.

My Brother has Rockband & Guitar Hero for his Xbox,.. He says you can play the Guitar Hero's Guitar with RockBand.

I also Know either RockBand 2,.. is out now,.. or will be out & all the Instruments should be universal with the RockBand 1 Game.. so you only half to by the game. Just like the Guitars for Guitar Hero . However with the Guitar Hero World Tour,.. its the 1st time the Drums & Mic have been incorperated into the formate. I am not one for the Drums myself... Unless you have someone who can seriously keep a beat,.. they might be difficult to play.

I've got 2 girls the same ages and they love both. We bought the Aerosmith Guitar Hero, but they've played Rock Band at their cousins house. If you have to choose, pick Rock Band (at least that's what they would say).

I would warn you though, the guitar was a little frustrating for my 9 year old. She finally got it on the easy setting, but she almost gave up a couple of times since she couldn't press the right button and strum at the right time. She might do better just hitting the drums at first.

I've played both extensively on the PS3, and I really do prefer the gameplay in Rock Band. I'm really looking forward to the Metallica Guitar Hero game too, but I do kinda wish it was a Rock Band game instead.
