    Monster Model Centerpiece

I finally found some Aurora repops on ebay last month and was able to spend a couple of days showing my kids how to build and paint some old school monster models.

To say they dug it was an understatement, I think I got them addicted. My son did the Godzilla, my daughter the Rodan and I did the Mummy (with two helpers) they're gooped in glow in the dark paint as well.

This was our centerpiece in our dining room for October, it's gone now but I imagine we'll be doing more kits come next year.

Wow B, that's cool. They glued and painted them? I'm impressed. Much better than I would have done back then.

I have some of the last reissues of the Aurora Batman and Robin kits MPC did a few years back. Andrew asked if we could build them and paint them. I wasn't sure, but I may have to give it a try now.

I did much of the glue wrangling although they held the pieces tight while they dried.

The painting was the easiest part, I let them cover the kits in a base coat then while they slept I added some details and did a quick dry brush. I didn't go overboard because I wanted the kits to be their work.

They woke up and couldn't believe how they turned out, it was a happy memory for all. I think you and Andrew would have a blast.

          You are a cool dad.

Based on your success, I think I'll give it a try. It would be a good project this winter.
