A few times in my youth at X-Mas time, I got these whittling toys that I can't recall the name of. They'd consist of a "log", really a mystery hard plastic figure (of maybe Yogi Bear or a totem pole, something like that) encased in a brown hardened-Play D'oh type substance masquerading as wood which you would "whittle " away with a plastic knife. Once the mystery figure was revealed you'd clean it up & paint it.
There was also a similar one that you'd chisel away the outer layer to reveal the figure.
Does anyone recall the name of either of these toys?
