My first custom using the new Castaway body. this is rough, but it's a start. I opted to go with non-castaway hands for now. any opinions about the hands? they are a little big. I'll be redoing the suit to make the open chest and dragon smaller.

You're right about the hands. They are a smidge too big for the body.
The suit looks okay to me, but maybe it's the torso that's throwing me off.
What about the one that was used for the GhostRider custom?
That is one sweet torso, and shows the level of definition that Iron Fist would have for a master martial artist.
The torso you're using is a bit on the skinny side.

I think the Hands are fine with the Size they are.
I think it's the Plain -ness of the Suit & the Regular Feet that seem to be throwing it off. If you used some Robin Shoes in Yellow or Some Bootfeet,.. I think the Hands would look More so in the correct Scale.
Looking forward to your Interpretation of the Character ED. I Just finished mine A Month Ago,.. Just waiting on a Vinyl Emblem to come in the Mail to finish him off.

I disagree with you two knuckleheads :silly: It's the pointing fingers that are too long, not the fist hand...it's fine. If you can shorten the fingers a bit, you should be fine Ed.
But really, who am I to offer an opinion contrary to the great BK and T3T :wink_y:

I actually don't think the hands are too big, but I agree the feet are too small. He needs some Flatt boot style feet, I think. Plus I would add black lines to the suit around the shoes, at the pantsline, and where the sleeves end on the costume. ONce the collar and sash are on, I think the costume will look great.

Now that I look at the picture again, I see that it IS the pointing fingers that are too long.
The feet are too small as well, but don't feet always look bigger when they're in a pair of boots?
Is this your first time doing an Iron Fist custom?

Sweet start for sure I agree on the points that suit needs outlining where the colors meet and robin shoes, maybe a castaway fist for the left hand.Other than that he looks very Mego-ey...if thats a word...LOL
The fingers on the right hand are indeed a tad too long. The fist itself on the left hand looks OK, but I think the back of the hand is a bit too long as well. The distance between the wrist and the beginning of the thumb seems too long to me

Thanks for all of the responses everybody, it's is a great tool to be able to pop up a pic and get a few opinions like these.
I'm normally more of the make'em like Mego would customizer, I'm not much for the "building the better body". Nothing against those of us that do, they are some of the best looking customs I've ever seen, and I have mixed and matched a few body parts in my time. I would much rather stick to a mego type, or mostly mego, body. That said, when I'm finished with this one he will most likely have boot feet, and either these hands or I may replace the right hand with a fist as well. The weird thing about the pointing hand is it is in scale with the fist. They came off of the same figure and I have compared them against each other a few times. If I use it I am going to shorten the two fingers just a bit though.
Meule, you might be right about the pivot point making the wrist to thumb too long, I feel the same way about the castaway fist though.
The suit still has a bunch of work to be dun.
Thanks again.
