Space 1999 Customizers - A better Paul Morrow sculpt ?

I dunno about you, but I never cared much for the Palitoy Paul Morrow sculpt.

I think they got his hair and stache correct, but the sculpt itself is rather lousy and doesn't look like Prentis Hancock, imo.

Low and behold, right under my nose, I glanced at my Marx General Custer.

Dang !!!

Now THAT'S Paul Morrow (with a few modifications of course)

What do you think ?

I know what you mean Mike, but the pic you posted of the real Paul Morrow makes the Palitoy look right on! It's the pose and the angle. That Marx head does look alot like him though.

Maybe I'm just nuts but I always thought it was pretty good.

I agree with Type 1 Kirk ~ Yes, that picture is dead-on with the Mego sculpt, but if you look at other pics and some of the episodes, I agree on the Custer head. It's either the eyes or the length of the mustache and how it goes farther down the side of the mouth than it actually should.

All in all, there were worse sculpts than this..

Actually Mike I think it's just a difference in the facial expression. The Palitoy sculpt looks like an angry Paul, "That waz sacred bread Alan!" The Marx one just seems to be Paul in a slightly better mood.

Here's a shot of Prentis Hancock from Doctor Who.
He doesn't have the Paul Morrow stashe and hair to throw you off.
I think the Mego sculpt doesn't look anything like him.

Hancock isn't as beefy as the Palitoy head suggests (he's even thinner now) but like a lot of mego figures you instantly know who it is when you see it and that's good enough for me.

I've just picked up a Marx Custer on ebay so i'll give it a try.
