What would be your most un-likely Mego custom

    Hello Yunz all,
Came up with this as I get ready to start my customizing work for tonite. I hope to finish a Thundarr I've been working on. Thundarr the barbarian was kinda at the end of the Mego era. So it kinda fits. Also it was an American TV show so if mego suvived they could have done a figure. See what I mean?

What I'm getting at is. What favorite thing in your life would you Mego-ize that has little or nothing to do with Mego.
Mine would be RED DWARF. It is far from the mego time period. Except for Doc Who. I never see much English tv action figs. and I have'nt seen ANY toy or action figures for Dwarf.

So lets get another group discussion going. Shall we?
Check out my picture library of Mego-ish compatible vehicles with ID data.

That's easy; characters from my own comic:

    Rashasi Lalachana - Mego Talk
    New custom - Mego Talk

        Foilman, of course

Foilman can be made by anyone--- young and old --- talent or no talent.

        No drawing board ...

Just run with it and if it get's too difficult, you're thinking too much

CSI - I saw a Gill Grissom custom somplace and it was really good.

It could also be a DaveMc custom.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Actually there are 2 newscasters on MSNBC I would like to sculpt and make Mego figures out of; but they have nothing to do with Mego. I thought about sculpting: Kieth Olberman of Countdown and Joe Scarborough of Mornin' Joe; just for the challenge of sculpting their likenesses. To be honest though, I don't think either of them would be interested in having custom action figures made of themselves.

                  Good thread...
That's the beauty of Mego! Nothing would be "off" to them... From Superheroes to KISS, from Starskey and Hutch to the Waltons, or Buck Rogers to Laverne and Shirley... Scale? Genre? Who cares?! Mego didn't and neither do I

                  Tops for me:

Clash of the Titans (or Generic Mythical Greek/Roman Heroes)

Historical Warriors ( Minute men, Greek Hipolite, WW II, Civil War, Genghis Kahn, Ninjas Etc...)

Aladdin and the Genie of the Lamp (not the Disney Version)

Gangsters (30's style, with Pinstripe suites and "Tommy" 30 caliber machine guns)

I'd also like to do a few U.S. Marshals Service Air Enforcement Officers (for here at work).

                  -Dave

What would be your most un-likely Mego custom

                      Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

                      Fairy Tales: (non-Disney)

                      The Fairy Godmother

                      Rapunzel

                      The Snow Queen

                      Baba Yaga

                      Mythology:

                      Medusa and her sisters

                      Poseidon

                      Amphitrite

                      TV:

                      Xena

                      Gabrielle

                      Autolycus

                      John Steed

                      Mrs. Peel

                      Richard Lynch's Anton Voytek

(That was from a TV movie that was supposed to be picked up for a TV series, but never was. Which was a shame, as he was excellent as the lead character. A more evil vampire than Vlad Dracul, as he was older and a lot more vicious.)

                      Oberon

                      Titania

                      Ariel

                      Puck

                      (from Shakespeare, not the X-Men)

                      Mr. Roarke (from Fantasy Island)

                      Lana Turner

I have to stop now, I've run out of ideas, but I will post when I think of more.

I'm not sure why, they're weren't even visually dynamic.

8in scale of course, but 12 would be ok too.

I'll run with CrimsonGhost's idea... and raise it with music-themed Megos of:

Motorhead (c'mon! What kid wouldn't want an 8" Lemmy?)
Rush (2112 era - flared sleeves and chest hair, folks!)
The Monkees (OK this is my wife's idea, but Mego should've been all over this. Same bodies, same costumes, just change the heads!)
Elvis (riffs on the above idea, except you just change his outfits. A shelf full of Elvi... just imagine!)

And, just for coolness' sake... a Mego of Miles Davis. Need, nay DEMAND, some cool jazz on my shelf, yo.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
