Hawkman
Flash
Green Lantern
Luthor in his purple and green duds.
Bizzaro
Cheetah

They also should have updated the earlier figures with the newer processes used on figures like Mr.Fantastic and Thor.

I agree with 8' Luthor, then again anybody from the legion of doom would've been cool.

Each super hero should have had a corresponding villain. That would have been a good business model to follow. I'd have gone so far as two-packs.
Superman - Bizarro
Fantastic Four - Dr. Doom
Captain America/Falcon - Red Skull
Shazam - Black Adam
Aquaman - Black Manta
Scott
BlackKnight

Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman, Dr. Doom & a Doc Ock.

I wanted a few more Justice League characters like J'onn J'onz or Hawkman (although even then I knew he would never look like he did in the comics even if they made one)
Luthor would've been cool, too. But I don't remember ever wanting to see one made back then.

They missed the boat on tieing in with The Challenge of the Super-Friends IMO, which would have brought us GL, Flash, Hawkman, Luthor, Brainiac, Bizarro, etc.

While I'd love a Hawkeye, I can see 'marketing-wise' there was already two archers (GA and Speedy). With all the Super Friends popularity still lingering at that time, I agree with everyone about Flash and GL.
Dr. Doom would have been another easy and popular one.
I mean, these were CORE characters at that time with their own comics, as well as Daredevil even. GL had just come back after a 4-5 year hiatus. Doom was in the Marvel SuperVillains comic with Subby, but was obviously popular enough.
I LOVE the two-pack suggestion ~ That would have been an easy seller to recoup any residual production investments.

Solomon Grundy would have been easy for them to do. How hard would it have been to modify a Hulk figure?

Oh, I forgot Disco Dazzler from Marvel- woulda been a natural in the 70s.
Come to think of it, why was their never an official music line other than the Sonny & Cher, Capt & Tennile dolls? Music was huge in the 70s, everybody had a TV Variety series!
Picture the Beatles in the Sgt. Pepper costumes, Donna Summer Disco Queen, and a Saturday Night Fever line with & the Bee Gees & a Travolta recycled from the Kotter dolls.
Or for that matter, classic comedy- for instance, where was the Jerry Lewis figure?
Oh, Layyyyyyddeeee!!

The Vision was one that I used to wish for when I was a kid playing with my Megos. I always thought that maybe there was one out there, and I had just never found him, or seen an advertisement for him.
Flash and Green Lantern really seemed like obvious choices that were missing from the line up.
I don't remember really knowing who the X-Men were when I was playing with my Megos. They really didn't have any outside of comic books popularity like what a lot of the DC characters had thanks to Super-Friends.
And I agree with whoever said that they really should have gotten something going with the Challenge of the Super-Friends. There were a ton of easy to do characters available there.
I used to always want a Hawkman when I was a kid too. I imagined the wings being made of cloth, kind of like Falcon's wings, but bigger and on his back, and with a plastic mace.
Plastic Man seems like one that they would have made too, seeing he had his own cartoon back then. At least I think that it made it out before Mego went under.
And there really did seem to be a lack of DC villains, compared to how many Marvel villains that they put out.

Or used the Hulk to make a Rhino.

rs:
Black panther
Luke cage
I would have snatched either or both of these two up as a kid.
Chalk up Power Fist for me, too after the Luke Cage selection. Man, I loved those two as a kid.
Probably a lame-o selection, but I was a big Human Fly fan, as well. Chalk it up to Evel Knievel's influence. I honestly tried to customize (though I had no idea what customizing was) a Human Fly as a kid, but my Mom talked me out of "ruining" a Mego. In retrospect, she was right.

DC:
Flash
GL
Hawkman
Atom (although back then, the Atom's costume disappeared at full size)
Teen Titan Robin
Lex Luthor
Brainiac
Sinestro
Cheetah
Bizarro
Captain Cold
Solomon Grundy
Marvel:
Daredevil
Dr. Strange
Sub-Mariner
Dr. Doom
Red Skull

Besides Hal and Barry?
In order (roughly):
DR. DOOM
LEX LUTHOR
RED SKULL
PLASTIC MAN
ATOM
DR. OCTOPUS
SPIDER-WOMAN
HAWKMAN
DR. SIVANA
RHINO
SUB MARINER
DR. STRANGE
SILVER SURFER
HAWKGIRL
MERA
GHOST RIDER
CHEETAH
BIZARRO
SINESTRO
LOKI
BRAINIAC
CAPTAIN COLD
I think that's it for what I think are vital add-ons
to what MEGO started.
ELECTRO and VULTURE happen to be two real favorites of mine
that were actually popular enough, I think, to have actually
made it into the real line too---if it would have continued on
a bit longer...
When FAMOUS COVERS produced an ELECTRO figure in
that classic costume choice---I have to say say I was
more than just a little impressed :)
MOLE MAN would have been a great choice too.
FOUR Fantastic Four characters and NO F4 villains?
I mean, c'mon! :)

Back in the '70s when I was playing with my MEGO figures I would loved to have had figures of Doctor Doom, The Red Skull and Nick Fury.
Jmass
Sep 15, '08, 4:19 PM
Spidey villians, lots of 'em. Mysterio, Ock, Vulture, etc. For myself, always Red Tornado and Mister Miracle. Mister Miracle's color scheme alone would have made a really eye-catching figure!

The obvious Mego's that "should have" been made that never were are Lex Luthor of course and I would have loved to see a Joe Frazier & George Foreman to go with Ali.
