I need help attaching a resin head.

    Newbee in need of help!

I just wasted my scorpion head trying to insert in to a castaway body. I sanded the rough down, heated up the nech hole and when I was done a had a nice cylinder that would not stay in the body. Can anyone help me? I need to know what to sand and how to insert a head in the body without grinding the edge down.

    Thanks!
    Jerry

        Hey, Jerry.

Here's what I do and I'm sure most other customizers do as well. I sand it down as evenly as possible and sometimes use a utility knife to cut away big chunks if the neck plug is particularly large. Now, in your case the fix is easy. STart wrapping payers of scotch tape around the neck plug. Keep doing this and trying it out in the hole. I actually prefer this to just using a plug because it's a soft fit, does no damage to the figure and makes the posing and turning of the head smooth. I almost always use this method and it work every time.

You'll have to post your final work once it's complete. Oh yeah, welcome.

The resin head offers no give due the fact that its resin. I thought that heating up the neck hole would make it flexible. Did'nt work. The plug is larger that the hole. If you sand it dow to mach the hole then it wont stay in the figure. I thought this would be a peice of cake. That's what I get for thinking...

Can you rebuild the neck plug up with Apoxie?

I thought about that. Thanks for the input. I think I will send it to BlackNight.
