Here's my work in progress. What do you guys think? Not so purty, huh? I know...still needs work!!! I'm going to go cross-eyed redoing his teeth, but he's too buck-toothed. It's only paint, right?

Yeah,.. I dunno, I don't think he is too Buck toothed. I like it. But the character does have a bit of a "Worried" look on his face,... not sure if thats true to the character,.. I know Nothing.

I like the skin tone, it's not a bad match... It's your custom and all, but myself, I'd skip the teeth...

Teeth are gone! I also smoothed out the skin, so I can't tell what damage I've done until tomorrow because my camera sucks with a flash....

It looks much betterw/o the teeth, Jess. Good work! :hokay:
Absolutely love it. Great job Jessica.
The one thing I see, (and please take it for what its worth) is that his head looks a little narrow, or too tall. If you are aiming for Cornelius from the first film, his hair was wider, or maybe not as tall.

I think I need to give him more hair, Chris...right now the head is very narrow. He looks a bit like Elvis, I am told...I added hair to the back of his head, but I need to add more to the top sides of his head and make it fuller. Luckily, hair add-ons are not a big deal.

Make this guy a white Vegas Elvis costume, and consider him sold!
Wouldn't that make a great alternate ending to POTA?
Heston struggling on the beach, and instead of the Statue of Liberty, you see the Vegas Strip?
"OMG! They've really done it! They turned it into a sleazy entertainment center!!!"

Too bad Tim Burton didn't go that route. Would have made his film better.

I shaved down his huge pompadour with sandpaper and resculpted more hair and added ears.

Here are some comparison photos.
It looks like I will have to repaint him if the dust on his face refuses to be removed. So exciting! He is slowly coming together.

Hey Jess.
My god that is outstanding work. But please remember. Most artistist are never truly satisfied with there creations and begin to "overwork them to death."

I sculpted ape toes over a pair of orange Robin shoes that I got from Brown Bear with Apoxie so that I could create a pair of removeable shoes, and they're still curing:

Forgot to mention that Cornelius is currently undergoing some minor surgery. I am changing out his neck plug with a ball plug, my first one. Hopefully it will make him easier to pose so I could get better shots of his whole outfit.

Jessica, thanks for sharing your idea for a removable ape shoe. I should try to make one for Dr. Zaius.

Those shoes looked ok, but they didn't work. They looked like clown feet, so I trimmed them and reworked them. They still look spuddy, but not like clown feet and they are removeable.

Don't these look like huaraches?

I peeled off the first sculpt and you can see the size difference:

Here is a body shot of Cornelius, showing off his new shoes. You can see that they don't look horribly huge on his feet and once painted up will look better.

I see. Do you think the mocassins might be an easier shoe to sculpt?

Cornelius is coming together very nicely. I see Galen is curing at the moment.

I have never held a pair in hand so I don't know the size, but it may possibly work if they are not large to begin with and don't overwhelm Cornelius once the Apoxie is on them.

Hey Jess
You are incredible!!! How incredible you ask. After viewing you great stuff. I've been grabbing up all the POTA stuff I could find on Ebay. Right now I'm waiting for 2 ape heads to arrive in the mail. I never owned any as a child. But after seeing all your great stuff and the recent showings of the films on AMC. POTA became my next must have Mego's.

Wowie ddgaff! I'm happy to know that you will venture onto the Planet of the Apes. The more, the merrier.
I did not own any Megos as a child either, human or ape. I look back and wonder how I let that happen.
