What a way to spend Fathers day,
I took two of my kids aged 14 & 16 to see FF #2... And I dunno maybe because I thought the Movie was gonna suck that I lowered my expectations and it surprised me. But it was just pure fun and entertainment. I loved every minute, I didn't care less about the minor comic continuity flaws (There were plenty, I didn't care) Because it was just a good old fashioned family entertaining movie, unlike Spidey 3 where pace and plot were sacraficed to squeeze in Venom.
One thing I will say, If Sub-Mariner wasn't already contracted to be in his own movie. I would swear thats where the plot direction was taking us for FF #3.
Also, I never thought that I would see the day that I would be lining up to go in the Cinema and see two of the options up in lights, "Spider-Man 3", "Fantastic Four 2". Its enough to see a grown Marvelite cry.

What I love about the new FF movie is that Kids are gonna love it. Otherwise I thought it was good not Great but good.

You did the same thing I did for Father's Day. You know, I liked it, too. I didn't think it was great, but it was fun. I really did like that my almost 5 year old could watch it with me. He really liked it. He loved that the Silver Surfer turns out to be good in the end.

I did the exact same thing for fathers day. The only differance was that my kids told me they were taking me to see the FF movie for fathers day. It was cool. I liked it and the kids thought it was awesome. Was a little dissapointed that they didnt show galactus but it was entertaining. The kids didnt like the mushy kissing though. I think in a couple years my son will have a differant opinion on that sort of stuff.

I hope I end up agreeing with those here who liked it. However, I anticipate that I will think it sucks. The first preview looked great, then I saw the one where Thing and Torch switch powers. I think we're going tonight.
I just saw it. I loved it up until Dr. Doom spoke. After they got rid of doom it got good again.
I think it was general consesus that teh actor/character of doom was weak in the first one and he has NOTHING to do with teh surfers origin in the comics so why bring him back?
Enough doom complaints. Overall I really enjoyed this movie.
I thought they did a good job with teh surfer and all 4 of the 4 came across better. it was visually great and teh film was paced well.
This was better than the first.

I think the guy who recently played the villain in Casino Royale would have been the perfect Victor Von Doom.

I took my nephews to see it Sunday night. I liked it. Not sure if it was faithful to the comics. I do recall somethings being like the old cartoon and the comics about the surfer and johnny.
I agree that the villian was underused immensely. Doom should be sort of dark like Darth Vader.. eery and haunting and he wasn't.
The balance was great, liked the humor too. Jessica Alba is gorgeous although was it me or my imagination but were they trying purposely to have her look caucasian? She looked too made up and were those blue contacts?
By far it was better than Spidey 3. I went to see that and I was bored... too ong... Kirsten Dunst is about as sexy as Abe Vigoda or Tommy Lasorda in his boxers..... Great body.. nasty face... Her acting is dreadfully contrived.
The movie reminded me of that dreadful Batman & Robin or as I call it Batt- enagger... too much.. too little.. too goofy. Venom would have been more than enough.
Oh.... two kudos though...
In FF2 I loved Stan Lee's apearance
In Spidey 3 .. the actor who plays J.J is awsome.. he's so perfect and the scene with the little girl was worth half the admission...
just a few thoughts

Wow, good call Clem. He'd be perfect.
Doom must be hard to nail. Of all the FF/Marvel cartoons, the only Doom I thought sounded right was the 80s solo Spidey one. The same guy may have done the voice on Spidey and Friends too, but I don't remember that one for some reason. The 60s HB Doom sounded too wimpy, the 90s FF Doom was okay, but not commanding enough. The 90s Spidey cartoon Doom was horribly laughable. A bad Bela Lugosi rip-off. Accent thicker than Ben Grimm's hide.
Doom was better this time, but not by much. I think they threw McMahon back in this one to appeal to his female fanbase. Lots of ladies dig the guy, apparently.

I liked the movie though I admit I am not a reader of Fantastic Four or Silver Surfer and went in without knowing the background. Thought the story line was interesting and the special effects were impressive.

VERY late to this show but my son and i just got back from watching FF2 and we loved it. I've heard that the story line is quite right and the whole "cloud thing", but all in all I liked it. Being a costume guy, ya gotta dig DOOM's new threads!! Updated very nicely! Hope to see him and the Silver Surfer duke it out in another movie
just thought i'd share

Saw it last Saturday with my Bro and my nephew before going to the Big Apple Comic Con and I loved it. All 3 of us give it a Thumbs up. Just a fun COMIC BOOK movie. Nice little touch with the Girl that Johnnie is interested in...Frankie Ray
The whole Doom trapping Surfer to get the source of his power, the surf board, was a pretty nice touch. Just an all around fun movie. Haven't seen Spidey 3....I'll wait to see it on DVD. Just completely turned off with the whole Power Ranger looking Goblin. Hated it in the 1st Spidey...hate it now in the 3rd movie. Even though Surfer was CGI'd...it worked very well. As Clem said, it looks like FF 3 will be heading the Subby Route. Who knows, maybe Subby will team up with Doom.

My Nephew loaned it to Me...there's 2 hours of My Life I'll never get back....what a waste.:yuk: Now It's obvious why Marvel started Thier own Production Company, to get back control of thier Character's.
