I just got home and waiting for me was a nice package of Accessories from David & Jason . . . . aka Castaway toys
I have to say that the body is really nice! Perfect weight and the arm articulation is everything you would hope for. They nailed the color as well.
The accessories - I recvd Fisted Gloves - Wow!! these are too cool. Guantlets- Again a home run! and finally Boots- They seemed a little tight but this stuff was sitting in 100+ degree heat so I think that is the reason they didn't slip right on, at any rate they look great.
I think this is gonna raise the bar another level!
Great job guys!!

Glad to hear that your order was delivered in a timely fashion and that you are a satisfied customer. I was amazed at the pictures that were show to wet our customizer appetites. I still have the thoughts of neat custom stuff running through my head as to how I could use some of their new products. I will be placing a large order sometime in the near future that is for sure.

I would think that being in the high heat would have made them softer (i.e. more pliable) and because of that, they'd slip on easier?

I got my order today as well. So far so good. I actually forced myself to do a bunch of chores around the house before I tore it open like a little kid. The boots fit fine for me but I only tried out the Buccaneer style ones. They are the same material as the prior Castaway boots, so I have no doubt that they will fit. However I agree with apes, that a higher temp logically oughta make them fit easier.

Depending on the type of material that it was actually made from the high heat might have made the material more sticky like. Once it cools down a bit perhaps it may slip on with ease? I cannot really say for sure as I have not made a purchase as of yet. I have and do customize with different types of materials and I have seen something like that happen myself. I guess we will find out the real answer to this mystery soon enough.

I received my order and love the quality. My problem is My Hero boots don't fit. I cant squeeze their boots on a naked body, how am I gonna put them on a body with a costume? Anybody have any luck in this area?
The body , cuffs and hands are great. I have the same problem has Fuzzysnail, I can't get the hero boot on either. I know it isn't fitting on the naked foot , maybe the suit will help it slide on?

Try heating the boots... two minutes in a bowl of water in the old Micro is what I do. Take em out shake em out and go right on, If the toes bind at the bottom of the boot, just pull the heal of the boot and point the foot towards the toe of the boot. Then use something flat and skinny to push the pant leg into the boot... It takes a little work but the results are worth it... I swear it works!

Thanks Dave, I'll give it a shot. Is it just the hero boots that are this snug or is it all of the boots?

Hero only, for the look mostly... the others are easier...

its a double edge sword really.
Mego initially made all thier clothing and accs. kid friendly which meant very easy to slip on. That is great for a kid but for an adult collector/ customizer your left with a clunky looking boot that just doesnt look right. Super Heroes boots are snug and these are snug but the price you have to pay for an awesome looking custom is to have to do a little extra work to get them on. I for one think its worth it but thats just me.
my two cents.

Any chance the torsos will ever be available in SOFT plastic? (It'd make using resin casts with the MEGOlike neck plugs a LOT easier...)
And, will this boot issue ever be resolved? (i.e. Will they be retooled so they can actually slip on over a body suit or MEGO tights without the suit/tights having to be cut up to slip the boots on?)

Apes...
We probably won't retool the boots, it's style preference like Dave said... These were made for Captain Action and the Phantom figure we are releasing. Newer boots altogethor is more likely down the road.
As for softer torsos, that too is probably not likely to change anytime soon... the use of Sonic Welding to attach the two halves together is much cheaper and faster than blowmolding the hollow chest of old (MEGO). This of course requires more rigid halves. This is why it's not as soft, though it considerable softer than DM bodies... Again the bodies are being made for our complete figures that will utilyze soft rotocast heads assembled at the factory.
