This may have been posted before, but apparently EMCE/Diamond is planning a repro Trek bridge for 2009:

It's a great idea.
The only prob I see is the price.
60 dollars seems awfully expensive for cardboard, shower-curtain and some plastic.
A vintage loose bridge is cheaper then that.

Yeah, I agree. If they could get it down to even under $50, I think they could move a lot more.

Unless you're mentally encased/fixated in your childhood (...or just plain mental..), I'd ignore this and go DIDA, full steam ahead.

There's an active thread on the topic right here on the first page:

My hook is the transporter. Didas nice with the new engineering section and med bay but I would want to go old school with the transporter.

At the risk of being a total pain in the neck...I can always put a transporter in a Dida. I've ripped about 6 of them out of beater Enterprises. If these sets lead to plentiful stools and transporters I'll be happy. I haven't given up on the phone booth....

Going to have to pass. I just picked one up off of eBay for 35 bucks.

Scott:

NO NEED for a transporter... It's a silly gimmick anyways. Your different Bridge displays now rule 'the Kingdom They Call Mego.'

Definitely NO need for change!

Mego was all about silly gimicks in the day. I'd want something that brought me back to those fun filled 70s. Otherwise Id go for something updated like dida or Johns bridge.

To me repro figs wouldn't look at home in anything else but a old style bridge..

Oh, I love the transporter. It's Mego's best gimmick. I'd use it in everything if I had enough of them. :smiley1: A lot of my gimmicks are attempts to have the same fun idea without a tricky, expensive piece of plastic.

It comes to this, if the Diamond reissue bridge doesn't sell well, there will be no incentive to make other things we MAY want.

I'll buy one and give it to the son of a friend of mine for a birthday or christmas, who I have given a set of every EMCE Trek figure that has come out to date. Why? Just doing my part to brainwash the next generation.

That's how I look at it. Brainwash the next gen to carry on the love of Megos so that these toys will be left in good hands after we have past.
