    Emce-scotty

What is going on with the Scotty figure, have you all seen his head? It's RED or Arab colored, some figures his face is really red, others his coloring is arab like. What happened?????????

He got a tan from sitting so close to the warp engines for all those years?
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

This has already come up in the "Scotty and Keeper on the way!" thread. Unfortunately the Scottie figure falls short for me, and I think it is the worst repro yet. Not only does he have a sunburn, but his head is skinny as well. With the exception of Spock and McCoy's silver cuffs, the rest have been excellent. Especially the Aliens.

        Emce-scotty.......

I luv everything about my EMCE Scotty; Except the skin tone. My Scotty has a redish skin tone. The more i look at him the more it doesn't zoot him. I wonder what could be the problem with the skin tones...The three EMCE Captain Kirks i purchased, also have a "Bad SunTan Look". I Hope they can remedy this problem; cause my kids and i support EMCE toys 100%.

Scotty definitely looks like he's got quite a bit of Cherokee in him.

He certainly didn't get that tan in the Scottish Highlands...

And true, I also feel that his face is a bit lean, as compared to "old Scotty".

I spent time at the shop and found one that wasn't red at all.

Ask Michael Jackson, he'll know how to lighten skin colour....

I'm glad I'm not the first one to bring this up...because I was quite disappointed with "Sunburned" Scotty as well. I don't under stand what went wrong...because Kirk, Spock, McCoy, & the Klingon all came out a good Mego color???

Oh well...I look at this way...I had a MINT condition Scotty Head(which I quicky transfered)...and now have a mint Body Body to go with it!

The skin tone doesn't bother me at all. Granted, my Kirk is a little too tanned as well. I am bummed about the shirt. Its not just that the collar won't lay flat, it just doesn't fit right. Its too wide for his neck : (

                      Keeper came out great.

I agree with censy. The skin tone and skinny(ish) head don't bug me too much - they seem like minor things, like the silver rank braids on Spock and McCoy. But Scotty's shirt collar is a real problem. Mine is glued down in back, but unattached on the sides so it sticks out. Also, as censy mentioned, it's ill-fitting - maybe too wide and/or not tall enough? It's a drag since the shirt color is so perfect (not like the pink on classic Mego Scotty).

I hate to complain about any of the Retro Trek figures since they are like a dream come true for me (especially all the new characters they're doing). But the Scotty shirt is a real disappointment. I wonder if some fabric glue under the sides of the collar will help it look better? I'm going to give that a try.

Does anyone know if someone sells (or will sell in the future) individual Scotty shirts with better collars?

I love the interest in re-releasing the vintage figures, but I've only been happy with getting my Andorian, and perhaps a Romulan in the future. All else has been vintage, off-card. It's primarily been the blue fabric being too light and the silver rank.

Not to speak for Paul, AKA DR. Mego, but I'm sure Paul will offer you a replacement shirt just like he has offered people the who didn't like the silver stripes on Spock and Mc Coy if you ask him.

My aunt came over the other day and stepped into my toy room and the first thing she said is, "Why are the guys from Star Trek all Spanish?" Kirk and McCoy are too tan for their own good, but I LOVE them regardless.
