We got a hotel so I'm glad it wasn't raining this time around (i've been burned by that before). Not a whole heck of a lot, fonzie, spock, a couple of incomplete KISS dolls. I called it a day with an AHI wind up Sparky King Kong...

I'll probably hit this show because it's so close, but the entrance is pricey and the last time it wasn't that great. The line-up is better but not sure how the dealer turnout will be. Too close to not consider attending. I work 20 minutes from there. Cool hotel, looks like a giant castle. Saw Mini-me last time I went. Just for the photo ops alone with this number of celebs it's worth considering. Always scares me when they don't advertise the cost of the autographs, usually means most would not go for them if they knew the actual amount it was gonna cost.

I saw a guy with three of the four KISS dolls last week, probably the same guy you saw. Other than that I just saw a couple of Mego Western figures (missing most of their accessories) in one of the consignment booths inside. I swear it's been years since I bought anything decent there, but I keep going back anyway. :smiley1:

I did see a couple really nice pieces of European antique furniture that I would have liked to get. (my father, the antique guy, says the price on a lot of that stuff is great now, it's really a buyers market). I'm not allowed to make any big furniture purchases without the presence of my better half though. ;)

Crap, it completely slipped my mind that the Toronto show was yesterday. I would have still liked to go, just to look around, but at least it's some consolation to hear that I didn't miss too much. Then again, I'm not exactly an early riser, and it's an hour and a half drive for me, so I usually miss any good stuff at Toronto shows anyway.

Did anyone hit the Steel city show? Wondering how it was.

My husband went, and he couldn't wait to give me the toys he got me there. They were supposed to be Christmas presents, but "That's such a long ways away," as he said. I think he was eager to find out how he did. I don't know all the individual prices, but he spent $90 and got the Human Torch w/ repro box(a few marks on the suit that I might be able to remove), Cap(which was $10 - no shield or boots, already have those, but the suit is pretty good and the star might be original), and a complete Falcon. He said that there weren't many tables with Megos. I think a lot of the same sellers were there from the last show, before they changed locations. I've met the guy who sold him my stuff, because I recognize that Torch from the last time I contemplated buying him, but chose the Thing instead. That seller's stuff was pretty decent the last time I saw him. There were a few other tables with Megos, but most of them were pretty beat.

What do you think, Jess? Should we go?

It's been so uneventful in the recent past I just couldn't bring myself to pay the $20 or $25 entry to find squat in the vintage toy selection. Then I'd get aggravated and buy something I don't really want but need to justify the cover charge so I really end up wasting more money. I'll save the $$ and hit NY in Feb. Should be a better than average turnout of MM members there as it looks so that will make it worthwhile.
