Thunderbirds vrs Captain Scarlet --- who do you like better ?

I've always loved Thunderbirds much more than Captain Scarlet.
It seems Scarlet is the cooler show, but to me it's less enjoyable.

I also don't care for the fact the Scarlet puppets hardly ever move.
Thunderbirds move pretty lousy on occassion, but at least they move a little.

I also never liked Scarlet's correct head-body proportions.
I figure if they're going to make it that accurate, they might as well have gone with live actors.

I have to say the opposite, for me it was Scarlet.

It seemed more realistic to me as a kid, plus it had Destiny Angel
    " But you can't kill me, i'm a Genius "

I like the ships on Thunderbirds but never liked the characters much, I like the realistic puppets of Scarlet better along with the stories.

My second fave would be Stingray.

Stingray was a great series too...

I think I always liked Thunderbirds the best because the characters were based on Bonanza--- and I always loved Bonanza.

As a kid I loved Captain Scarlet especially because the puppets were realistic.
Now that I have both series on Dvd Thunderbirds runs a close second to
              Scarlet.

It's interesting the way Thunderbirds continues to attract new generations of
              kids in the UK.

A while back I showed Supercar to a four year old little boy friend of the
family and he loved it. It being in black and white was initially puzzling to
him but once he got used to that he was really in to it and even sang the
              theme song later.

I think the Fireball theme (closing version) is the one of the most nauseatingly catchie theme songs ever written.

I love it, but once I hear it--- I can't get it out of my head for days

Has anyone seen the 1968 Gerry Anderson puppet show called Secret Service? I bought the complete 13-episode series on DVD last year, and I've enjoyed watching it a couple of times since then. It's a weird mixture of live action and realistically proportioned puppets that stars Father Stanley Unwin as a puppet version of Father Stanley Unwin. The priest and his gardener, Matthew, moonlight as secret agents, and their adventures invariably require the use of a device which shrinks the gardener down to doll size.

With so much live-action footage already in it, it does seem like it would've been easier to leave the puppets out completely, but most of my interest in the show lies in studying the miniature props, sets, and costumes.

I used to watch that in French as a kid, i remember all the live action being somewhat distracting. I should really watch it in english.

One thing I find distracting is that most of the puppets are guys in suits who vaguely resemble each other. It's hard to tell them apart when there's a lot of dialogue and you mostly see their heads bobbing around. They tend to talk more slowly than normal, too, and that's put me to sleep a couple of times.

It's starting to sound like I don't like the show.

I remember it being sort of dry that way, although I needed to characters to speak slowly at the time.

I found some Terrahawks on clearance here and bought it thinking the kids would like it. It's one I found the least appealing, the puppets are muppet like (no lower torsos) and everyone is kind of creepy looking.

I completely missed Terrahawks somehow, so I had to look it up on iMDb. Anderson really beat that team-of-scientists-protecting-the-planet theme to death, didn't he?

Yeah, Terrahawks was supposed to be a return to past glory so I assume the theme was intentional. It was made in the mid eighties and had horrible syndication in North America, so it was pretty easily missed. It aired in my neck of the woods at 5am.

Thunderbirds win with me by default. It's the only one I've seen. Do miss G4 running it and have the little extra trivia bits.
