    Emce Star Trek Retro Bridge

I just saw on the Diamond website that Emce is releasing a retro bridge playset early 2009! I thought everyone should know. Doc you are a sneaky guy. I hope this is news and not everyone knew about this.

$60 bucks for a new one or less than half for an original. Already got my original one, slightly damaged and missing the furniture.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

I had heard they weren't going to do the transporter. Well, that's nice, but I wish it would be possible to buy inexpensive loose transporter units...or extra stools...Generally, I don't understand why they wouldn't update the artwork. Make the case, but kill the rainbow walls. That's not retro, it's just wrong.

I applaud EmCe for branching out to playsets.

The link in your post to diamond says they are going to have the transporter???? Fact is they said they were going to have all the original Plus up grades. So I'm curious what the up grades are?

Right-o. Originally we got word here (?) that a transporter was not going to be a part of the set. But now it is.

As far as I know, this is not an EMCE product. Diamond took it on their own, the website mentions Art Asylum.

Art Asylum is mentioned on the second page. But the first page does state Emcee.

"Fans of the Star Trek Retro Cloth Figure line and devoted worshippers of all things yesteryear, pay attention! Re-released for the first time since the 70's, DST and Emcee Toys will be bringing the Retro Star Trek Bridge Playset to stores early next year!"

Or it could be an unintentional mis-representation on DST's part. But in any event, still cool.

I just want to thank all involved! I did not have one when I was a kid. I hope this leads to original playsets and perhaps Apes sets????

I agree... in today's day and age if I didn't already have an original Mego Trek Bridge I don't think I'd rush out to buy this repro...in fact, I'd rather pony up the extra dough and get a better looking/more accurate one from Dida Displays.

I talk to Paul months ago about the playset, wasn't sure Diamond was going to go for it , I told him offer a figure with it.
and he said I want save tooling, than offer a kirk with the 3 scratches on his face from "the enemy within",Joking of course.

$60 for a new playset untouched VS. if your luckey for less then $60 for a 30 year old set that is used with damage, playwear etc...

It is no brainer, for me, the new one would win every time.

I was hoping that if they did do a playset, they would incorporate the AA captains chair, and do an accurate helm console and chairs.
