If you had asked who do you think should play Green Hornet, Rogen would never even have come to mind, EVER. There are plenty of other people out there that would do fine in this role.

It's crap.

He's writing the screenplay too.

Okay, guys.... let's take a deep breath and hope for the best... he's not my first choice, but everyone doubted Michael Keaton for Batman (he did OK), and Robert Downey for Iron Man (he kicked *****!)... Seth might be looking for a breakout role (let's hope so)... I do love casting against type a la Gregory Peck in Boys from Brazil and Leslie Nielson in Airplane (does anyone remember when Nielson played ONLY serious roles?).

Let's keep our fingers crossed, 'cause the guy is really a talented writer and actor!

Hopefully, he'll just be writing it. If him and his partner are serious about the charactor, I really don't think SR would, or should, let himself be cast as Britt Reid. Write it maybe, not star in it. But who knows? It seems like everytime a superhero movie makes money, they drag out Green Hornet, and no matter who's attached to the project, it never gets made. George Clooney was supposed to play him at one time, and he did Batman & Robin instead (ugh). Kevin Smith was supposed to write and direct it , and then he was was just writing it, and then nothing became of it. It's a shame too, because done right, I think it could be really good.
Did you read any of the comments section? One person suggested Jon Hamm from "Mad Men". He might be a good choice to play BR/GH.

To be fair Michael Keaton was at least in good physical shape. What's next Rosie O'Donnell as Wonder Woman? Hopefully this turns out to be nothing much like the Jack Black Green Lantern.

You would think that with all the money the Dark Knight is currently raking in as a serious movie to go against that and make some lame super hero comedy would be disastrous.

This is actually old news. He's been attached to it for some time, I think pretty much right after Knocked Off really started raking in the dough. I guess now though, it's official.

George Clooney or Ron Livingston (Band of Brothers) is who I wanted to play the Green Hornet.

Anyone remember when Eddie Murphy was attached the the project to play the Green Hornet?

I never want to see Clooney as a superhero again. I like Ron Livingston, but I don't know about him as the Green Hornet. I'm not really into GH, so maybe I don't have as high standards for a movie version, but perhaps SR will suprise everyone. He might have a few tricks up his sleeve, especially for a guy the everyone seems to think is just a stoner comedian.

Yeah,.. You'd get some "serious" acting outta George Clooney ,.. running around with that Half-Cocked Smile interacting with everyone.

Kinda like Van Williams did in the tv series. On the radio and serials the Green Hornet was pretty much a solemn character. But when Van Williams portrayed him, he added a bit of "cool" to the character. I think a "Danny Ocean" as Green Hornet would work.

What exactly does he need a physical trainer for? Green Hornet usually just sits back and lets Kato do all the work, and its not like he wore form fitting spandex either. :)

You know Hector, you laugh, but I bet some suit would be like hell yeah that would so work. My bet would be John Cho from the Harold and Kumar movies.

If I were in charge of casting for the role of Kato...my clear number one choice would be the amazing Tony Jaa:

I hear what you're saying, but Michael Keaton worked out to play Batman back in 1989, and he ended up in a rubber suit with molded muscles.

Maybe the Green Hornet and Kato will both be wearing bullet-proof armored Kevlar trench coats to face off against "realistic" hoods armed with guns.

sorry to say, but physical training is not going to do much to make people believe he's the green hornet.

Sadly, rumor has it this is the plot for the film. It's a comedy where GH gets all the press (even though he is considered a criminal) and Kato does all the work....and Kato aint liking it.

Hasbro locked up the toy rights when the Clooney version was shopped around a couple of years ago...bet they are real impressed with what they have to work with now!

There is a guy setting up a one man Green Hornet touring show thats planning to hit the convention circuit next year. Cant say what he all has planned, but I think it will do more justice to the legacy of the character than this potential mess.

Hector, you stole my post. I would love to see Jaa make his american debut in a part like this. it would be a great way for him to be introduced to the mainstream.
