Years ago, I remember seeing a guy that had 1 Cent BIN's with a $99.99 shipping charge. Don't remember the items (electronics, I think).

It was a Mego Robin figure with a low starting bid price but shipping was something like $17.99

The shipping started out at 39.99. He may have lowered it before it was pulled, but that's where he started it. Yikes!!

I reported this auction to eBay yesterday. They don't care about the buyers, but they will pull auctions that try to get around paying them their full listing fees.

To report an auction for excessive shipping (http://cgi1.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=InlineSelfHelpWebfor m&wftype=2023&rcode=LP%25P10077&subject=Excessive%20Shipping%20%26%20Handling&bcrumb=+Home+%3E+Help+Topics+%3E%A0Rules+and+Polic ies%A0%3E%A0Rules+for+Sellers%A0%3E%A0Rules+for+Li sting%A0%3E%A0Excessive+Shipping+and+Handling&instruction=&expirationDate=), you only need to enter the auction number.

excessive shipping is the main reason ebay started showing shiping in the auction searches.

before this I saw many athletic shoe sales for the one penny plus $99 shipping - i reported several that got pulled
