    Too late. Crud.

I only recently (like last month) read the Trade Paperback and I can't wait to see the movie.

This looks like it's done right...so hopefully it'll restore the cosmic balance after Frank Miller's "Will Eisner's The Spirit" movie.

          Wow!!!

I recognize almost every scene in that trailer from the story and I can't wait to see the movie!

I was resistant for so long because I just don't care for "deconstruction" and that was all I felt Watchmen amounted to. Forgive me, I'm a Silver Age/Early Bronze Age Dude. I want my heroes to not have chinks in their armor.

News of the movie and you all speaking so highly of the story (and my trust and respect of member's opinion) caused me to reconsider and am I ever glad I did. I'm "late to the party", I know, but am I ever glad I decided to join up. (Maybe turning 40 next month has me reconsidering things?)

            Re: Trailer.

I was unaware of this movie. Looks pretty dark, and therefore pretty sweet.

            Just found this.

"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."

Among the many things I see funny in that: the squiggly line on Charlie Brown's forehead has been incorporated as Dr. Manhattan's reluctant symbol (and he is looking up at it like "what the heck?"). Thanks for the laugh!!!

I guess I know what I'm doing for my next birthday.

It's a shame Alan Moore is such a contrarian about movie versions of his stories. This one looks pretty good, but if they follow the comic closely enough, it'll be pretty hard to screw up.

I need to crack open my Absolute Watchmen.

That's one of the best, most captivating trailers I've ever seen. Saw it twice in front of both showings of DK I've taken in. Audience response seemed very positive as well. Lots of murmurs of "whoa" and "cool".

I would really recommend waiting til you see the movie and then reading the series. If you read the series first, there's no way the movie can live up to your expectations

I think I just crapped my pants, that trailer looked absolutely incredible. I loved the comic (reread it many times) and this movie looks like it could really deliver. I can't wait to see it.
