My 1st hand sewn suit-- Teen Titan Cyborg!

    What a @$!$!@!@$%
I started this at 3:00 today. I finished at 9:00. To be fair, I took about an hour break spread out throughout the afternoon. Next time I'm breaking out the sewing machine!

Cyborg! I'm working on suits for all the Super Powers characters and really wanted a challenge.

I'm relatively pleased with the outcome. I see design errors (of mine) with the lines, where I want his ankles to be and the back of his belt. I can fix that.

Not sure how I bunched up the button area, hopefully when I sew them on that area will look much better.

    So, whatcha think?

That's great. I've always wanted a Cyborg, but the outfit is a killer, so it's been on my back burner.

I would be proud of that. I was debating on making a Cyborg. Is that an Austin Hough silkscreen? He is a good guy and had a lot of neat stuff on his page before I was locked out and couldn't get back in. LOL

I like what you did, I might take that silk screen route to complete my Cyborg. Someone tell me how to get one of those.

            I made this by myself.
I designed it and sent it to Austin, haven't heard back from him in awhile to know if he received this newest one (a previous one was off design-wise) I kinda figured out the dye-sublimation process and printed it up myself. As anyone who gets his suits know, they are professionally sewn, MUCH better than what I just did, LOL!

Always a great solution for a complicated character design
---and it's a solution I prefer more often than most would think.
Anyways great job using a great method---and as a "WWMD?" type collector,
it's good to know there is another soul out there blazing the trail for dye sub stuff.

How does one make that them selves? do you need special printing press? I have always wanted to get into silk screening suits but never knew how.

Well, the process I use isn't silk-screening, it's called dye-sublimation. Back in January a few people here gave me a crash course on it and some pointers on how to do it. It's kinda expensive as you need a special printer and pricey ink and a heat press and the right kind of material to take the ink (and a modicum of computer design talent and sewing capabilities, lol) but still easier to do than traditional silk-screening, at least IMO.

But once you get that down, the sky's the limit on Mego-ish looking suits!

Very interested in the crash course. Where do you sign up?
Seriously though, I have toyed around with this idea quite a bit lately. What type of printer did you decide to use?

BTW the suit looks great. Machine sewing makes it all that much more difficult to hit the lines on something with that much detail.
