I for one do like his movies (Enemy of the State, I, Robot, Shark Tales, ID 4, Six degrees of separation) and always wonder why there is such dislike of this guy. I see his movies because they are entertaining.

I like Will Smith, but I don't like a ton of his movies. Most of his movies are decent, though. I feel the same way about Adam Sandler. His movies have some laughs, but never make for a good movie.

I like Will Smith .......
I'm probably the only person who actually likes Wild Wild West -- but I do

Shark Tale was one of the worst animated movies in a while. I actually turned it off part way thru. just really really bad.

I am Legend was one of my all-time favourite books.
And then came Smith's movie, with the CGI zombies.
Give me Chuck Heston anytime...
Isaac Asimov is one of my favourite authors.
And then came I Robot, which had virtually nothing to do with the story except the title. Everything that made that a great story was dropped for more action scenes.
It's like remaking Schindler's List, but with added car chases and exploding Zeppelins.
Independence Day, a movie with more (plot) holes in it than my left sock. Punching out aliens? The President fighting the aliens in, what was it, a bi-plane?
I'm sorry to disagree, guys.
I honestly like Will Smith. I just think he shouldn't be in movies...

Well, I liked I Robot, and I saw part of Enemy of the State. Not big on MIB or Independence Day. Didn't see Wild Wild West, (never bothered w/ the series either).
But I'm SO over Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air!

ive always liked will, fresh prince as i 1st new him by
movies aside i was blown out by the im the rapper hes the dj album back in the days
then i love and still watch the fresh prince of bel air even though ive probably seen them over and over
i must admit ive not seen all his movies, but the ones i have seen have been good enough, what can i say hes a nice enough guy, family man with kids and stuff hes pretty cool....
the one thing just recent though i saw him on a chat show here in the uk and i admit he was as cheesey as hell... like no one can be that happy to be on jonathan ross show, kinda like a false smile and act but that is showbiz for you... you give the people what they want
but i like will/fresh prince the rapper not the actor side of him so much

I see this kinda hate all over the place.
I love Will Smith, an African-American who is the number one box office champion...some people don't like that.

I just think he shouldn't be in movies...
See?
It's statements like these that prove me right.
It's ok not to like his movies...fine...but to simply say that he just shouldn't be in movies altogether...give me a friggin' brake, dude.

Arnold, Van Damme, Seagal, Stallone, Diesel...they are all in movies...why not Will Smith? Smith is a better actor than all those other action starts put together.

Will Smith is awesome he has personality and that goes along way in Hollywood I like all his movies. The Kids and teens love him....and like Hec said He Blows everyone of those guys away and yes even Arnold!!!

To say people don't like him because he's African American is just wrong to me. There are actors of ALL colors I just don't like. Personal preference not racism I think is more like it.

I would actually say that Arnold, Van Damme, Seagal, Stallone, Diesel should all not be in movies. The Fresh Prince can keep making them. I just don't have to see all of them. The aforementioned are an offense to everyone who has ever committed a story to ceulluloid.

Men In Black was fun.
Wild Wild West was actually fun.
ID4 is one of the worst piles of crap I've ever witnessed. That movie should be wiped from existence.
Pursuit of Happyness was actually a very good movie and I thought he was excellent in it but I will never watch it again. Just too damned depressing.
I like him somewhat. I liked him best in MIB I think.

I've never understood what was so terrible about Independance Day. I had fun with it. They blew up everything in grand fashion. And either way, I don't see what he had to do with ruining it any more than Jeff Goldblum's exceptionally Jeff Goldblummy performance.

No Wil Smith didn't ruin it. Eveything else about it ruined it. ;)

Will didn't make (produce/direct/write) these movies, he starred in them. If the movie is trash because of CG, storyline, etc, it is not the stars' fault.
I thought ID4 was a GREAT movie, as well as "I am Legend" & "I, Robot". Judging a movie on the book it is based on will let you down every time.
He is a great actor and puts everything into his character. He has been nominated for an Oscar and will win one before all said and done.

Like I said...you can hate on Smith's movies, that's fine...you don't like him, you don't like him...I have nothing against that opinion.
But when someone says he shouldn't be in movies, to me that is just plain hateful, period.
Why shouldn't he be in movies?
Will Smith is a good-looking guy, has decent acting chops, the audiences for the most part love him, and he brings monster numbers at the box office...like him or not, he's a bona fide superstar.
Now tell me again...why shouldn't he be in movies?

I like Will Smith -- he is decent actor/action hero. His movies are usually enjoyable.
I like him in Six Degrees of Separation, Bad Boys, MIB, ID4, Hitch, The pursuit of happiness....

The guy is awesome!!! I liked nearly everything he has made. ID4 was one of the more entertaining movies I haVE SEEN AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I really enjoyed Hancock...I didn't go in with over expectations, and really enjoyed it. I read a lot of the negative reviews so I was prepared for the worst, but it wasn't needed.
Will Smith is a fun actor, with a great smart *** attitude. MIB is perfect for his natural character. If you don't like him I can't imagine who measures up to your high standards.
Action stars like
Tom Cruz? Arnald? Van Dam? Stalone? blah blah blah.....
I truly enjoy Wills' July movies. Keep up the good work.

No one has mentioned Ali, which is a very good if not great film. Smith certainly acquits himself nicely in the acting department; if anyone still believes Will can't act, I suggest giving his turn in Ali a chance.
I like Will, even if his movie choices tend to have a mass-audience appeal that favors blandness over brilliance. His films are just as good as they need to be without being truly exceptional -- except MIB, the aforementioned Ali, and Six Degrees of Separation.
