    batgirl question

This is probably a dumb question, but I am asking it anyway...
On the cover of Detective Comics #359, Batgirl's suit appears to be black.
Is this the case, or it susposed to be a dark grey?
I can't seem to find any readily available reference to confirm this. I am only finding covers, and more modern depictions of her (which range through every shade of grey to black. It's an anti-spectrum).
Anyone have any reference pics from this issue, or know if it exists in a reprint volume I could pick up?
    Thanks!

I believe it was more black in the initial appearances of the character but it was gradually changed to grey...

        I would call it black.

Black in Batgirl Year One, too. Great book, BTW.

I always thought that during the first year of her crime-fighting career, she wore black, then changed it to grey after that.

Add Batgirl to the long list of characters who started out in black with either blue or gray highlights, and slowly overtime, the color went to just the highlight. Batman's black cape, cowl, trunks and boots became blue, as did the non-red portions of Spidey's costume.

Batgirl's switch to gray only may have had something to do with the influence of the 68 Filmation series, where Batgirl was solid gray for the first time.
