If you find an image of the firebird decal, you can use a computer-compatible presentation projector to help get it on the car. I have seen it done with batmobiles and a bluesmobile as well. You project the image, resize it to scale with the lens while lining it up with the car. Then you trace it and fill it in with paint by hand.

Dude that looks sweet! I made one of those into a Green Arrow car a few years back for Ollie and his Canary.
If you come across something that sorta resembles a Gran Tornio I really need it. I want to make one for my Starsky and Hutch figure. I never cared for that undersized one that was put out!!
