    The Thing with Two Heads

Just watched it for the first time in over 25 years (thanks to a great Museum member)

    Man,
I never realized how new and innovative this movie was at the time .......
It was tongue in cheek before tongue in cheek was the norm ...

I can't believe how many movies and TV shows copied some of it's antics ...

Just off the top of my head .......

The Blues Brothers car chases --- they always show you nobody got hurt after the wrecks

    The A-Team ---- see above

CHiPs --- Half the movie is basically a CHipS chase

Death Race 2000 ---- the whole serious tongue in cheek premise

    I could go on ...........

I seriously recommend The Thing with Two Heads to all

Dunno if I'd call it innovative; but you've hit on why I like the old B-Movies. Because they were so cheap, and there was so much competition they could afford to experiment. Big budget films tend to be real predictable 'cos there's too much money at stake to risk doing something different; but with a good ol' B-Movie there isn't.

Of course there isn't money for REAL effects; but a lot of experimentation idea and theme-wise happened with the B's.

How this movie escaped MST3K still has me scratching my head.
