I just got this little guy last week... A T1 Spiderman with a repro silk screened Circle Suit.

The seller thought it came from a member here several years ago.
Does anyone know anything definative on it's liniage?
I didn't think I did too bad on it.
It is pretty sweet and great quality.
The only two nit picks, minor at best, are it's too blue, and it you can see white come through in high areas when the cloths get pulled tight over high areas or at joint points.

Yeah, I think you did pretty good there man, me I'm trying to rebulid my Batman(mostly the damned thing is repro cept for the head and cape!) and Shazam(cape and boots and emblem are gunna be repro) back to full and that's a chore lemme tell ya, Supes, Robin and the Riddler are good to go!
Wanna know something funny?
I'm a bigger Marvel fan than DC! But I got the 3 Marvel peices I wanted totally original (Hulk, Cap and Conan)
PLUS a custom Sentry and Bruce Banner to boot!
Being a Hulk fan I liked Captain America cause he's just an all around good guy, Conan (can't really call him Marvel but they did put him in the Marvel line cause of the comic) but really I enjoyed watching Hulk take the Heroes to butt-kickin school!:wink_y:

A few people have done this over the years. David Lee's was probably the most printed, although I'm not sure if this is one of his or not.

I've got one of Dave's circle suits and it's a much darker blue. Maybe Austin's or the guy who started the silk screening crazy who said they were originals a few years ago (forgot his name)?

The seller did mention that he thought it was a guy named Austin, but couldn't remember his ID name if that was who it was.

Remember it all too well Tim. The guy that tried to scam people on the old Yahoo Mego Group was a guy by the name of Jonathan Moore. Said that he found silkscreened outfits in a lawyers office cabinet. Man, that got really ugly when it was found out that he pawned a silkscreen Circle Suit Spidey off on Mike Haspiel as the real deal. I think Moore is still out there somewhere making 12 inch customs...it's a shame, cause the guy was a good all around customiser. He made nice Kresge/Mego stylised cards that fit in the slim bubbles...problem was he was a major league scammer. Greed does a lot to people sometimes.

Yep, that was him (Jonathon Moore). Good memory BM! The thing was a lot of people would have bought those SS suits if he'd just been up front and honest.

Just goes to show that knowing somebody from online doesn't reveal too
much about someone til ya scratch quite a bit below the surface by
speaking in person a few times at least---and even then, thou shouldst be wary ;)
Total criminal...I've never seen such an insult on such a huge scale
to the Mego Community in all the time I've been here

Jonathan(no relation!) still makes 12" customs, and sadly they are pretty amazing. If only he had used his powers for good.

From the very start of the "fake suit" debacle people have been giving
the qualifier, "he makes great suits" in tandem with commenting about the
offense he made to the community
There'll be more great suit makers where Moore came from
And, from what I saw of Moore's fake suits, obviously he has more
talent in making suits than he does pulling off a major scam...thank goodness
the community worked hard and fast to flush out the truth

Once he was found out, he did not have one defender that I can recall. He's like the Darth Vader of the custom community, only nobody saw it coming. One day he's one of the best customizers around, and a reliable member of the community. The next, he's infamous. Just a total waste of talent and reputation.
