Not only will I post customs I'm somewhat happy with, I'll post failures as well. Such is the case of Atom. This is a Reprohead suit that I had my mother sew up. THe material is so delicate and strechy it's difficult to work with unless you're used to it. She ended up making it a bit large so I had to do alterations which caused some of the ink to rub off the material. Also the hands suck as I cannot get my red paint to adhere. THe head ended up being too glossy. I tried toning it down, but that didn't work either.

Just another learning tool. I'll attempt this guy down the road again once I've improved upon my mediocre skills.

Gorgeous... simply gorgeous!! I would try to use flat paints on the heads, though.

THe problem was the sealer. I always use flat paints, but I went back and repainted the blue to match the suit. I sprayed it a second time and it got really glossy on me. I attempted to tone it down with more paint and not seal it, but that didn't do it. I'll just have to be careful with the sealer. It was matte finish, I just may have over-done it.

We are always our own worst critic, aren't we?? The key is you're having fun and getting better...which is what it's all about it.

It will be interesting a year or so from now to see what he looks like after you've redone him.

And you are right...that is the head Russ used to make Flash.

I think you did a great job on him.

Of course I am biased, though. :)

Not bad at all and I certainly wouldn't classify this as a failure. I think you're on the right track and I see where you have an eye for details so the longer you do this the more refined your skills will become.
