I ordered the early bird special and was wondering if these figures were to still ship in June.

Well... that was the hope anyway. The factory is under tremendous pressure (according to them). It looks like it will slip, barring a miracle... How much slip is the question. We are planning on e-mailing all who have ordered so far once we get a harder date. The factory is supposed to e-mail me tonight. We are disappointed... it looks as if we are subject to same frustration as everyone else who make figures in China.

Thanks guys, it's really frustrating... but we are no more immune than HASBRO or MATTEL or even our own Doc Mego and CTVT. We were told this is ALWAYS a possibility... The light at the end of the tunnel is that since we went ahead and molded up the next 4-5 releases, the slips should end here (but then again this is China!)

Maybe China uses a different calendar than the rest of the world?

And to think people here were complaing about EMCE and it's delays.
It is a part of life and the industry.

I'm looking forward to when these come out.

It took 11 months for a prototype I asked for when they said it would be 2 months. Maybe they use Roman numerals. It's either that or make 'em yourself I guess.

Actually it has to be directly related to toys, and the lead paint fiasco. I produce some items for my company in China and they just shipped my proofs today for a 25,000 piece run. Two weeks ahead of schedule. The paint issue evidently has them double and triple checking things to try and restore their reputation. Being food related we've always been subject to the levels they must be putting toy production through now. Guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

This morning I received an e-mail from Dave, which was sent to all early bird purchasers, that said the new shipping date will be sometime in August.

Speaking of June, Castaway's Early bird figures got an honorable mention and picture in the current June issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine. It was part of a 2 page spread on the New York Comicon.

Good Stuff!

I used to be an instant gratification type of person, but now that I started this hobby,
I wait for parts to ship.
I wait for them to arrive in the mail.
I live in a rural area with no Hobby lobby, Dollar gen, or Fabric store - so I wait for raw materials online or take a road trip.
I wait for auctions to end.
I wait for good deals.
I wait for email/forum responses.
I wait for my finger to stop bleeding - when I sew suits.
I wait for paint to dry.
Sometimes I wait for inspiration.
And all the waiting is worth it, because I learn patience, and how to take my time, which generally results in a better custom, or buying decision, at least for me. I have no doubts about if the early bird will arrive, so when is not really an issue for me. I am sure, no one wants to see it show up more than our good Mr. Lee. It will be that much more exciting when it does arrive. Cheers, and Happy 4th of July.
