Could be a raffle, on ebay, or any other place you can win stuff.
About 15 years ago I went to Las Vegas for the Western Athletic Championship with the Wyoming Cowboys (We Lost) and played black jack the friday before the game. I started with $150 and after 4 hours had $18,600! I quit once I realized how much I had. It helped me have a very easy time in my last year in college. Only other thing I won big was a 7ft snoopy in a middle school raffle. I gave it to my mother.
Captain Dunsel's original Kahn Mego custom from his contest.
I never won anything before or after that :)

I would have to say the Huffy bike I won in a raffle at a county fair when I was eight.

A Schwin bicycle when I was 3. One of my earliest memories, and Ronald McDonald presented it to me before a live crowd.
Since then... well I just won a poster in the raffle.
..actually when Heroclix came out I played for the first few years and was way too competitive. I would win local tourney's and back then the prizes were work decent cash on ebay. I sold all my winnings to pay for more figures. At the big tourney in Chicago i came in second. that was my biggest haul.
Oh, I almost forgot, I won a free soda at my local mall theatre raffle when they ran Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown

I had a weekend where me and my girlfriend (now wife) could not lose gambling. We started at the restaurant and won $500 on video poker. Then we went to our regular watering hole and won $500 more dollars. By that time, I said we are going to the boat, we could not lose. We won another $300 or $400 dollars and it was time to go home. I drop her off and when I was heading home, I missed my turn off and ended up at the boat again . I played poker until day break, winning another couple hundred dollars. I had made plains to pick my girlfriend back up at 10 am and go play some more. She about killed me when I told her I went back to the boat with all of our winnings from the night befor, but not after telling her I was up $200 more. We went back that day, played for a few more hours, won another hundred or so. At the end, we won around $1600, ate and drank for free.
When EP III product display stuff was all over the local stores, the local Safeway took all of theirs and had a raffle for the whole lot of them. Both my dad and I bought tickets and just put our last names on it so it was either one he bought or one I bought but we won  There was a R2 cooler, Yoda air mattress thing, Pepsi cardboard cutouts of Vader and Chewy, Lays cardboard cutouts of Vader and Yoda and two Kelloggs/Keebler 3-D cutouts with vader and a small picture of Yoda, Chewy and 3 PO very cool stuff
I also won $500 from a radio station, KGON out of Portland last fall ... I got me a nice minty Mego Wonder Woman with some of the cash
I've won $100 or $200 from time to time at the local casinos

That's hard to say. I've won so much great stuff on Ebay, (but those are winnings you have to pay for). I've never won anything like a contest or raffle or award or anything. Guess I'm just unlucky that way.:ugh_y:

The only thing I've ever won was an autographed Willie Mays baseball. I was probably 10 or 11 and entered a raffle--never won anything before or since.

i won over $400 at blackjack in a Nawlins casino once. i was with a bunch of friends and they all lost their money and found their way back to me, so by the end i had everyone behind me cheering me on. it was like a movie.
we were there for the first--and only--Nawlins Comic Con, so i of course spent it all on comics and Aquaman sketches. :)

The best thing I ever won was a pair of tickets and meet and greet with motley crew. It was a radio contest called "mystery riff" where the DJ pick caller 13 and then would play a riff on the guitar and I had to guess the artist and song. The song was DOA by Van Halen. The meet and greet with Motley crew was quick....no autographs either. Kinda Lack-luster but hey.....it was cool that I didn't have to pay to see them play. :)

The best thing I ever won was recently but that was an ebay purchase from a member of MM too!
I have not gotten it yet but I can't wait. I just need to finish paying for them first! I won a set of prototype stinger dolls from jgallo. If you collect Jem it's like getting the 8" mego reg. carded Wonder Woman! Only set known to exist.

Well Ive been somewhat lucky. When I was first married 11 years ago went to savemart had to have been about the second week of marriage and wond a $500 shopping card. Also first trip to Laughlin, Navada put three quarters in the slot as my wife was checking into the room at the front desk and hit a $1500 jackpot. And recently went to my sons judo competition and bought two raffle tickets and upon arriving home got a phone call that we had won the grand prize a $1000 savings bond.

Best thing I ever won personally was a door prize at a company Christmas party. I picked an envelope and there was a $100 bill inside.
My wife always wins door prizes. Too many to mention but one that stands out is a 5 ft. tall Grinch stuffed figure she won through a Hallmark promotion many years ago. It scares the you know what out of my 6 year old.

When I was a kid of 13, and I still lived in Reno, I used to go to this place called "Scoopers" which was a family owned fast food place. I went there so often that they asked my opinion on food items on occasion.
They had a deal where whoever had the high score on their Phoenix video game each week would win a free lunch. So one week I won the free lunch. Hooray!
But wait. The day I went in to claim my free lunch, the kid in line ahead of me told the lady he was there to claim his free lunch. She asked, "Is your name Robert?" The kid looked shocked but then said, "Yes". He lied. I said nothing. Why didn't I say anything? I couldn't prove who I was. I never thought that maybe he couldn't prove who he was either. He ate my free lunch. Now the Scoopers people think my name is James.
