doesn't give much but I like what I see thus far. Curious to see if this is the movie that finally does the story justice. Hopefully Will Smith doesn't make bad jokes.

I'm an absolute sucker for trailers, but I have to say this one was eh. I'm definitely going to see this movie, but I look forward to more trailers.
If they keep this tone throughout the movie, I'll like it a lot. I'm glad to see Neville's family and the dog.

I like what I see so far hopefully future trailers will show a bit more.I'm hoping finally for a more faithful adaption of Mathesons book.....The Movie adaptions The Last Man On Earth moved so far away from the Novel that I never enjoyed it...and Omega Man although a Good movie IMO didn't follow the book faithfully.
I also am hoping that this movie is not full of one liners...I'm kinda getting sick of that and Will smith is kind've know for that.....

The trailer looks good. As to whether it's actually going to be I Am Legend or just another interpretation (perhaps just a remake of the Omega Man) remains to be seen.
I'm excited because I like Will Smith and the source material, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high. Don't want to be disappointed. Already I'm seeing things in the trailer that indicate that it will depart, yet again, from Matheson's original vision. For one thing, the novel was set in suburban LA, not downtown Manhattan. A somewhat different vibe in terms of setting, and I think creepier with the original, since most of us are suburban dwellers, not big urbanites. Makes the horror hit home more. I read a great article a few years back about how Matheson concentrates on a "fear of the mundane," which is a common phobia we all have but have seldom considered. he does this in not only Legend, but in some of his other work like A Stir of Echoes and The Shrinking Man.
The main reason I think this is being remade is b/c of the success of 28 Days Later, not b/c someone truly wanted to pay homage to Matheson or his work.
