Let me preface this by saying I'm trying to keep this short so if I miss a name or two my apologies.

This was my first trip to Wheeling and if you have not made this event you need to put it on the schedule NOW!! (go ahead I'll wait while you do it and come back) it's worth every penny, every minute away from work or family, it's MEGO Heaven!!
It's the Museum in solid form, just no marble pillars . . . yet!

It was great to meet sooooo many people, some that I have known a short time some for 10 years or so via the internet. You guys made me feel like one of the original 8 and I had a blast.

Some of my observations . . . . (names most likely misspelled)

The dealers room was everything you could imagine and more
The displays were top notch with super rare figures and even Love Boat stuff
The Sloppy Joes were world class and very sloppy
Art Baltazar (megomilk) is a HOOT!! and he's also famous!
Paul Clare knows how to throw a party!
Paul Clark knows how to WOW a room, good things are coming boys!
Palitoy likes Champale?
Derek Combs is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and sews all of his stuff by hand
ChrisDVM can cast & paint under extreme duress
By day three the Mego Suite had an odor you wouldn't believe
Tom Sacco . . . don't know the name? . . . you soon will
John Michaels can power nap
Ron you don't really need that Silver Soldier ape, do you?
If Brue were an AJ, . . . . . he'd be a Lion Rock version
Scott Arendsen' s son is a giant in training
David Lee & Jason know how to arrive fashionably late
Berto' has more parts than NAPA . . . he's a great guy too!
Brian Leitner is a customizing mainiac
YES, john farley's customs are that good!
NO, Derek Richardson never stopping working on his customs
Scott Adams has more rivets than the Mark I Armor
Ask Chuck about working back stage
I recommend HOSS'S steak house
I don't recommend Undos Italian food
Don't tell anyone but I saw some bootleg DVD's there
Thanks to all who purchased a Sheriff of Nottingham Figure
It was a genuine pleasure meeting everyone, a Mego dream come true for me
Dave McCormick needs a huge round of applause for being the lead on this event!

thanks everyone!!!

Glad to meet ya in person.

Love the new Art B. Avatar.

I'm with you on the not so hot Undo's. I think it is mainly a location thing so I assume we will stay there. My food was actually fine but I'd be happier at an all you can eat where people mill about - or even taking over the McDonald's were we could walk a thin line between being fun loud and you gotta leave loud.

The McDonalds would sell out of toys in seconds

Very glad you finally made one of these Jim. If was a pleasure to hang with you once again. You're committed now until at least 2010.

The best part of the meet is, and always has been, meeting old friends for the first time and meeting new ones as well.

Jim,

You captured the spirit of the meet perfectly with your post. It was sooooo good to finally meet you and all the other guys on the board. This weekend will go down as a highlight for 2008...and beyond.

I'm looking forward to cultivating my friendship with you Jim - you are a class act!

And your Sheriff rocks!!

I agree with most of your observations. Undo's was alot of money for little food.
the Sheriff of Nottingham Figures went too fast for me. Iam hoping to get anther chance at one.

Jim - Great to finally meet you after all of this time, and also glad you had a blast at the Meet. A nicer, more laid back toy collector you will not find. I, too, snoozed and lost on the Nottingham figure, so congrats to all who picked one up. A great figure from a great guy.

See you next year ;)

It was great meeting you Jim, and you should try sleeping in the MegoSuite after everyone leaves!

Undo's food is okay. It's not the best in the world, but consider where we are. It's the only place that is willing to house 50-60 people on a Saturday night, give a menu that ranges from Steak to a hoagie, and allows us to each have a separate check.

Hey,
I agree. I found out it also depends on who was waiting on you. Our waitress was excellent, got us our food and appetizers quickly and took care of our bills at the table. I understand others did not fare as well with the ability of the waiters.

I'm glad you and Sean came. It was great meeting and hanging with you guys. I too am proud to own a Sheriff figure.

Our waiter at Undos seemed to start out fast and ended with a wimper. He apparently doesn't know the difference between spare ribs and baby-back ribs.

So good to finally meet ya after 7 or so years Jimbo! You are just as good in person :)

Funny Scott! I asked our waitress about the ribs, and before she started the speil, I said "keep in mind I'm from Kansas City" she said "your gonna want something else..."

I sat across from Chris, everything including my steak was great. Even though you guys were a couple of feet away it sounds like we were at different restaurants...
