Has anyone created a custom Mego Gorilla Grodd?

I've seen a few custom Mego boxes for Gorilla Grodd, but never an actual custom Mego figure of him. Has anyone created a custom Mego Gorilla Grodd?

I know I've done custom boxes before for Joe Centineo (jacsfc) but I don't recall what he used for the finished figure...

...it might have been one of those King Kong figures from a few years back.

It was your box that inspired me to ask about Grodd.

I saw one someplace. I think it employed a POTA Soldier ape head, and a hulk/thing body with a totally furry custom suit. Pretty good and very megolike, but didn't really capture the Grod Character as well as you might do with more head options available today. I thought it was a great use of an extra soldier head, and the body was fine. Just the facial expression didn't quite do it for me.

I was thinking about doing something with my extra Ursus head. Someone here made furry POTA arms for a Julius custom. I wonder if a whole bodysuit can be made like that.

              Well, that's different.

Cheetah, Bizarro, and Toyman look cool though.

There's like different Fur & stuff like that one could get at the CraftStore. There's also Ape feet & hands out there... A Thin Piece of leather or Vynil or something could make up is Chest piece.

But I dunno,.. I have trouble wanting to even Get envolved with the character, Because of the Neca Kong figures & the New Grodd from DCD.

Wow those boxes are sweet. Since Grodd is supposed to be larger than normal humans maybe the larger Mego Hulk body would be appropriate? But if you wanted it to be classic Megoesque like the regular 8" Hulk body with a POTA gorilla head would be a good start. I started a Sasquatch from Alpha Fight once using the more muscular Mego 12" Superman body (least I think it was Superman), but kindof lost interest because it wasn't coming out right like I wanted. This was back in the 90's before I knew about Apoxie Sculpt - I would approach it a lot differently now.

Hey has anyone done the Ultra Humanite before?

I think you should go with a WMWD approach, given that there are decent modern grods, and Mego would definately have used an existing ape head and probably a muscle body. The trick would be the suit, and head paint. Laurie at Toy fanatic has some alternate ape head casts you might look at.

                        Edgaar's Stuff - Grodd

Here is Grodd as I have hime now - should finish tonight - Couple of things - I liked when he when with the cape back in the day. The boots and belt were added only to set him apart from just another gorilla figure - not sue I'm "diggen" it yet.

Let me know what you think! Suggestions welcome

The body suit is a darkened WOZ lion, cape from Arthur and the head is from a smaller King Kong

Was that Grodd with the cape or are you thinking of Solovar, the ruler of Gorilla City? I always remember Grodd being naked.
