The title pretty much covers it, but I want to share the good news that I submitted the "Director's Cut" of Mego 8" Super-Heroes: World's Greatest Toys! to the publisher. In the coming weeks, my publisher will review the book and make edits as necessary.

However, after nearly four years, the truly hard part is finally over.

The book remains on schedule for an October 25, 2007 release.

Best,

Benjamin

I'd like to add that the project was completed as a result of Rob Chatlin's tireless efforts and marathon editing sessions. Thanks to Rob, the book will come out on time. Thank you, Rob!

Congrats Benjamin. I know it was a lot of hard work but I also know it will be well worth it. This will be the Mego book for sure. And thanks for helping Rob. I'm sure you didn't mind since you got a "sneek peak" at it. I lift my drink to you both (and everyone else who helped by supplying pics or doing anything to help make this a reality).

Benjamin,

I have a good idea what a herculean effort this book has been for you. A lot of hard work, sacrifice, and diligence were involved, and I have no doubt that the outcome is tremendous. A truly landmark book not only in our hobby but in the realm of collectibles. A work of art. Your book should be a model for other hobbiests to emulate. Thank you thank you thank you for making this incredible pursuit a reality and doing it first class!

Congrats, Ben!

Let me echo the ackknowledgement of the work you put into this and the rollercoaster ride to get to this point. I know you've painstakingly focused on having some incredible pictures and layouts for this tome. Your love for these little guys will surely be reflected. You can be proud.

Plus my girlfriend said you're a pretty cool guy and she doesn't like anyone ;)

Thanks for all the kind words. I really appreciate the support everyone here has shown over the past year.

Aaron, you can still get the signed copy of the book, which is a TwoMorrows exclusive, from my publisher's Web site:

Congrats Ben! I remember the dark day you posted at the old museum saying the book wasn't going to happen. I can only imagine how it feels to know you are essentially finished and the book WILL be published, by a great house like TwoMorrows no less. Everytime I see the solcitation in my BackIssue! Magazine I smile. Kudos to Rob for helping as well!!!

I should have my copy in hand when the wife and I go to the hospital to deliver baby #2. It will help soothe my nerves and enteratain no doubt!!!k

Congratluations and thank you seem like too small words to encapsulate what this work means to you and to us as well, but they will have to do in the absence of the proper wording. Well done Ben (and Rob too)! I cannot wait to hold this in my own two hands.

Great to hear that you are nearing the end Benjamin! I just got off my arse and ordered a signed copy to go with my Amazon pre-orders

Congrats mate, please keep us all updated on the fun proofing / printing process! :juggleyes_y:

On a related note, I was just flicking through my recently acquired copy of John Marshall's Comic Book Hero Toys (as recommended by several members in an old thread) and noticed that the great man himself Rob Chatlin supplied most of the loose WGSH Megos! That book is a great reference (and a surprisingly amusing read!) so I take it as an excellent sign that Rob's involved in yours too. Not that you needed more Karma!

Cheers!
