Anybody know about VINTAGE IMAI Japanese model kits ?

I have a Captain Scarlet model kit .......
I can't find any info on it other than it being called a "lost Japanese IMAI kit"
I guess because it don't show up much .......

anyway, do not mix this up with the 1993 reissue.
    They're a dime a dozen......

Anybody know what year THIS kit was made ?

Preserving Mego history today, making Mego history tomorrow.

I'm not 100% sure when they were originally released, but i remember seeing these, and Thunderbird models, in toy/model shops throughout the 80's.

I would have to guesstimate the late 70's/early 80's.

      Hmmmm....

The Imai symbol looks old.... by the early 80's they were using the rectangular one. I'd bet it's from the early 70's. Up until the mid 80's there were a LOT of older kits floating around. They started dumping them here in the late 70's and you could get lots of stuff for pretty cheap. (Then Robotech came out and they were cheap no more!)

The one thing that stands out for me is that JPM logo on the bottom right.
I never see that on newer kits.
