I won an auction that ended about 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. The listing didn't state what the shipping costs were so I decided to wait to pay untill I received an invoice or heard something from the seller.
Monday afternoon: haven't heard anything from the seller so I request a total through eBay.
Tuesday: still haven't heard anything from the seller.
Wednesday morning: more dead air from the seller so I send a message through eBay asking for the shipping costs so I can pay.
Wednesday afternoon (now): still nothing.
I'm probably being a little anxious, but at this point I'm starting to suspect that either the seller wasn't happy with what it ended for or someone made him a higher offer after the auction closed.
Thing is, while I don't think I paid top dollar for the item, I'm pretty sure I paid a fair price. I certainly don't think I got a good deal, and I know I didn't "steal" it. Plus the guy has great feedback so I'm not sure if the seller is just being lazy or what.
The kicker is that, in order to win this item, I had to make the decision that other items I really want are going to have to be passed on. Now I'm seeing these items selling and I'm really wishing I knew what was going on with this item so I could move on.
My question is: how long and how many e-mails do you send before you take more drastic action. I know I could get his contact info and call him but he's on the other side of the country. I'm going to pay a bit for this item and I still don't know what the shipping's going to be. I really don't want to add a long-distance phone call to the price tag. And I don't want to be premature in filing somekind of dispute with eBay.
So what do you think I should do next?
