RIT Dye and Castaway boots.

I can't get a dye that is the right shade of blue to match the lighter color boots. So my response is to dye the boots. Has anyone tried dyeing the CAT boots to different colors or shades?

I think the castaway boots are painted. They won't take dye if they are.

The white ones take dye just fine...and it doesn't take much...they take color fast...

Yupper... very quickly. I also found some spray dye that allows a better control and a much better red color. The boots take dye perfectly, as do the white cowboy hats... I personally like it better for customs because you can match colors better.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but while we are on the subject....can Castaway boots still be had? I love them and I want some more, but they seem to be scarce recently.

You to ehh? I am glad to know that I am not the only one still waiting. I have been waiting on two seperate orders since Feb. 08. I have tried contacting via e-mail and PM with no responses. I believe that I have been way more than patient and diplomatic. I have no idea what is going on??? I guess the orders will be sent whenever he feels like sending them???? After reading recent threads of others this seems to be the norm these days.

Yeah....Me too(and I also get no responce to Emails). Just recently...I ordered 7 Pairs of Boots from CTVT's....and they came in 4 Days! Now that's how You're supose to do Business!

I personally found that airbrushing the color you want onto the boots is the best way to go.

I have had really great luck with CTVT and Doc Mego/Starlog. Both great stores that really have their stuff together.
