What are your "Holy Grail" comics?

Is it a fondly remembers comic from your childhood?

Have you recently found something you've been seeking out for a really long time?

I recently picked up one of my "Holy Grail" comics while I was visiting a friend in Detroit. It was the second volume of Richard Corben's Underground Collection published by Catalan in the eighties... the best part was that is was cover price!

About a year ago I ran across Richard Corben's Odd Comics World published by Warren in the seventies for a great price at my local comic shop... it had been apparently sitting on the shelf for quite some time and I just hadn't checked that section. This is after continually getting outbid or bid out of my price range on the rare occassions it has popped up on ebay.

My one Grail was Love and Rockets number one and I got that in the 80's. What I wish I could have is a complete run of all the Fawcett Captain Marvel Comics from the Golden age.

it has to be the one book i always wanted since the early 80s and thats FLASH 105, talking about the silver age flash here, this is one book i keep missing either because i find one when i have no funds or i have some funds and can;t find one

one i would like to own: More Fun #73, the first app of Aquaman. its considered "rare" and is worth something like $20K, so i highly doubt i'll ever own it.

one i do own: JLA#200, the one where all the original members fight the new ones. i always loved the JLA book as a kid--it was, hands down, my favorite title--and this 72-page 200th issue was the best. i still have the copy i bought at a newsstand in 1982--its dog-eared as heck, but i still have it!

I second that! Would be a great run to own.

I'm plugging in the gaps in my Marvel Team-Up and All-Star Squadron collections. Probably not Holy Grails to many, but I loved these as a kid and have had a lot of fun trying to make them complete sets.

I pick up Captain Marvel Adventures and Marvel Family whenever I have extra cash. Love that stuff!

For me, it would be between Detective Comics #27, or Batman #1. I tend to lean towards Batman #1 because it's the first apperance of the Joker.

My grail would be Captain America #1 but more realisticly it would be Avengers #4. I will be mine before the year is out!

the comics I would love is the rest of my UK Jem comics and the many from the other countries but they rarely come up for sale and latly and sold pretty high one going over 200 and I was bit surprised by that.

They didn't do the comics for the USA but did some for the UK, Mexico, France and Germany, done by Marvel back in the 80s.

I would also love the original appearance of WW in all star comics #8, next would be Wonder Woman #1 from 41 or was it 42? and Sensation comics #1, these I would buy if I got a steal on but wouldn't be willing to dish out the money they are going for these days.

Other Holy Grails for me are Grant Morrison's Spiderman/Zoids.

I also wish I knew which issues of Sonic the Hedgehog were Mark Millar's. Rumour has it that he introduced a character called CLINT FLICKER.

1. Tie between Detective Comics #38 and one of the earliest Wonder Woman appearances(All Star comics #8, Wonder Woman #1 and Sensation Comics #1)
2. First appearances of the other founding Teen Titans. I have Brave and the Bold #60, so Wonder Girl is out of the way. I think Kid Flash first showed up in the Flash #110. Speedy's first appearance was in More Fun Comics #73, and Aqualad's was in Adventure Comics #269.
3. I'd also like to get Brave and the Bold #54, the first appearance of the Teen Titans.
