Barry Allen/Flash is Back?

A friend of mine told me the original Flash has been brought back to life as a result of the storyline in final crisis. Can anyone give me the scoop on this? I have always liked the Flash when it was Barry Allen, but have not found much interest with the various incarnations since his "death".

His return was strongly hinted at in "DC Universe" #0, the precursor to Final Crisis. Final Crisis #1 doesn't come out until May 28th, so we'll have to stay tuned and see.

Barry Allen does seem to be coming back. The original Flash never went anywhere. Jay is still running with the JSA.

If Barry is back for good, and is staying the Flash, I hope they just depower Wally and his kids and let them and Linda live a normal happy life. He'd be a good supporting player, and to kill him or tease killing him AGAIN would just be plain dumb.

Just de-power the kids. Have Wally & Linda and the kids as supporting cast in The Flash, and Wally back as part of the Titans.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing Barry back.

I always wanted Barry to come back but now I'm not so sure it'd be the same Barry as the DC Universe has changed a lot in the last 20+ years since he's been gone. His kind of stories may be kept best in the past and told as flashbacks or in a TPB format, rather than in the modern world.

I'd LOVE to see a "Showcase Presents The Flash" focusing on his 70s adventures, including the Golden Glider and Ringmaster Saga!

Indeed. I liked the recent issue of JLA where Wonder Woman has to talk to Wally about slacking off on his duties to the team. It makes a compelling story - a legacy character who now has to balance his superhero career, marriage, and children, not just normal kids, but kids who have their own powers. All that on top of living up to his predecessor and his days as a sidekick.
